@sgthobbes: It's on sale so you could still just buy the standard edition if you like it.
It was being given away on Uplay not long ago but I can't even tell what version of the game I have. I've put about 3 hours in, it's not really my jam anyway.
Good, that show went way too long. They should have ended it several seasons ago. Trying to keep the situation (yep that's what the sit in sitcom is short for) the same after everyone's married & their lives have all changed was really forced. They ran Two and a Half Men into the ground as well.
Plus it's long ago been pointed out that the show really does make fun of nerds more than it actually does anything positive for socially awkward people. Every issue they deal with reeks of being written by outsiders, not anyone with actual knowledge & experience with games, trains, academia or anything else that comes up. Sure it's entertaining in a turn-your-brain-off kind of way but there are far better shows out there.
Sky TV in NZ is a paid subscription that used to have no ads. First they started playing promos, then they started playing ads. Slippery slope, boiling the frog, whatever metaphor you like - Netflix will do the same thing, just wait.
@jako998: I'm going overseas & taking my desktop isn't really an option. I think a 1070 Max-Q on a 1080P laptop is gonna be fine for the next year or so. I'm looking forward to a desktop upgrade when I get back though.
@usmanghani321: I'm running two 970s in SLI. They're great in most games but SLI support is starting to fade. 10 series cards still weren't much of a performance boost in games where I could use both 970s so it wasn't really worth the cost for me. Ray tracing is still pretty much future tech but hopefully there will be a reasonable performance increase in current titles with these new cards.
@Richardthe3rd: It's hard to tell how they'll fare with current games & those releasing soon. Ray tracing is cool but devs have to make a choice to spend time implementing it & they'll still want to support existing GPUs. Getting in before the miners is probably a good idea though.
I just bought a laptop with a 1070 Max-Q. :( I knew these new cards were coming & it's still gonna be months before they're readily available in laptops but still...
@hrv_25: Salty? Haha, sounds like you're looking for fights.
I played RDR on PS3. I played GTA V on PS3. I play on PC now, I personally think it's better than console for a bunch of reasons but that's my preference. You're entitled to your own. I wasn't expecting RDR2 to launch on PC so I'm not really upset. It will eventually be ported, just like GTA V.
