According to Ghost Recon, it has already been 4 years since the Ghosts saved Russia from an Ultranationalist terrorist takeover. Lie? Perhaps...

I think the problem is not the actual number of them, but that there are too many "me toos" at this point that basically follow use the cookie-cut of the most commercially successful one. (I think the latest wave was started by call of duty: modern warfare, as the previous FPS wave seemed to dwindle when the majority started getting sick of the WW2 setting). Developers are following the recipe of whatever makes the most money and putting their own coat of icing on it in an attempt to differentiate themselves enough without altering whatever brought the initial game (that started the wave) success..

[QUOTE="fl4tlined"] its just the amount of people playing the game like its cod is ridicules theirs really no teamwork of any sort

There you go. It really depends more on the players. There will always be that huge part of the game audience that will play this way, breaking the immersive experience of survival shooter tension. The survival horror thing works if you play it like a sim + MMORPG. Like ArmA mixed with WOW or something. But there are a lot who will play it like an arcade game, and that's where the survival horror vibe gets broken. All you can do is hope that they and their buddies will get bored and move on to the newest/next flashy violent game sooner.

most games single player campaign feel like your walking through a funhouse at the carnival.Germanviking
I like the way you put that. I feel that is the direction that most first person shooter single player campaigns go nowadays. In that particular case, I think it is because those games are more expected to be cinematic now. Before, you had a map that you went around til all the enemies were gone, or til you had collected all the proper keys, then it goes to the cutscene/score before moving to the next mission. Now, with immersion and cinematic feel being central, they change it to a linear corridor... I mean, "streamlined," experience with all the flash, explosions and story progression/shocking plot twists happening as you move on to perform your next shooting gallery sequence or quicktime sequence... ie Carnival funhouse.

Perhaps the problem is that MW3 got much higher scores than it should have, just because it is Call of Duty...

Peanut butter is always kind of iffy because many people are allergic to peanuts. if you start that, watch the kid for hives or breathing problems a bit after feeding him. Maybe try banana (mushed if the kid has no teeth yet). Most kids love that stuff, and it''s got potassium.

This problem is most prominent in modern military FPSs but isn't it also true of most singleplayer FPS campaigns nowadays?

He got lucky twice then: The 2nd time in winning the lottery, the first time in getting out of a relationship that would have found him under-appreciated somewhere down the line.
