@khjsaw: While I do agree that some things are stupid, in this case you are just nitpicking. The main problem of the game is in my opinion the tone and ambience. But not as a flaw of the game. The flaw in this case is the connection to the serie, but then again, this is the same flaws RE5 and RE6 had...

@lithus: I don't see where am I contradicting myself. If it is the "(which it is... in a way)"... What I´m saying is that it is not the first game but it feels like a first game. Diferente tone, diferente settings, diferente perspective, and so on....

"If you or he actually bothered to play this"

I´m playing RE7. It will take some time but I will finish the game. Also, as explained my main problem with the game is the centralization on horror.

If it ties directly into the RE series that's a good thing, but it wont change what I was saying.

@Schwah: Time will tell the future of this serie. I believe the sales will determine if this is the path to take or not. Sadly that happens a lot, and while I disagree with the strategy it is a logical corporate thinking.

Personally I just hope for a good selling result. The game may not be of I wanted but it is an attempt to change from de pure action style. And a change is always better than not doing nothing.

@Schwah: As I said it's a matter of taste. The game is awesome in what tries to be, no debate on that. If people enjoy more this perspective that´s fine by me, same thing for Re5 and Re6 fans.

I just miss the oldest games, that feeling of a decaying world by a zombie apocalypse. Guess that it's out of the picture in future games...

@Schwah: 35 here so, not much age differences. Eh Eh...

First of all I´m not debating the quality of the game, I think the game looks amazing, and achieves much of things the devs wanted to achieve.

As I said before, I don´t think this game is lesser of a RE game than Re5 or RE6. Those games are centered in action, RE7 on horror and suspense.

My main problem with this game is the 7 after RE. This game plays differently and we all know it is different. In my opinion this game should have been called RE: Biohazard 1, in the same line of Biohazard: Gun Survivor, Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

You are asking me why I think this game misses the mark. It´s simple... In the same way as you I´m a RE long time fan, I played all RE games (the serie, not the derivations), I loved all games, specially RE2 (the best in my opinion), RE3 (the more intense) and RE4 (the more fun), but I never liked horror games. I don´t have fun in being always tense, or scared. RE (the trilogy) was always a mix of horror, ambience, fun, power, weakness and fragility. You were scare some times, you were tense other times, and so on. A mix of feelings. Oh, and as some people said, I miss the zombies. Not the 28 days later zombies, the old dumb asses TWD style. Again, ambience over stress.

As you now understand, I "hate" (strong term, I only hate one game) the Outlast style games. RE was never this style. I accept a change in order to appease to a new fan base, just don't call it RE7.
