If they had responded to the feedback right away, I'd still be cool with MS, but they were so ham fisted with their restrictions, they didn't wanna let them go. They were willing to brave all the negative feedback for a while to hang onto those restrictions. Only when faced with losing money did they retract everything.

The point is, MS didn't WANT to adapt, they fought tooth and nail at first, telling us why their ridiculous ideas were good for us, whether we thought so or not.

Well I see they did nothing about linearity, you still progress from A to B in a line.
