Soft bigotry of low expectations. If I offended one of my guy friends I'd tell him to suck it up, I treat women the same way, but these days I can't go to a media outlet of any kind without hearing why i'm such a terrible person for not walking on eggshells around women, when I literally hold everyone to the same standard...tell me where I'm going wrong, cause frankly it's quite confusing, I'm told on one hand I should treat everyone equal, on the other, I have to to give special consideration to women, because apparently they can't take it like a guy can??? Can someone tell me which one is right???
This comes down to fundamental differences in ideology, some folks insist that "too much is never enough, we need to beat this issue into the ground until the goal is achieved", as far as what that goal is, and if it matters what anyone else thinks about it, I think those are irrelevant questions to those championing unabashed inclusiveness to all sectors of life. Tell me, what is the standard? Do you all advocate federal inclusiveness programs into video games? I'm sure government bureaucracy stifling creative thought in the name of inclusiveness will lead to much better games. Also, does the demand matter? Quite frankly, if consumers don't want whatever it is being proposed, should devs be making the games anyway? No one is stopping these incredibly diverse games from being made and released, if you make a great game, people will buy it...All I propose, is that you all, stop for a minute, and consider how your aggressive tactics might be perceived on the other end. People generally don't like being told what to do, or how to do things, or that they are somehow evil because they don't want to be bothered with something that you may be particularly passionate about. Conversation is good, but when it turns to forcing your position down the throat of others, it tends to do more harm than good by way of divisiveness...you can see alot of that politics today.
Wow, gamespot is really hammering away at this gender thing lol. Obviously people will gauge the importance of gender in their video games with their dollar...we'll see how big of an issue this really is lol.
I don't know who thinks that just because mobile gaming is growing, core gaming is shrinking? I'm a long time gamer, but am quickly bored by 99 cent mobile games...it's just not the same. Even the elaborate ones, would be laughed at if released on a console. Casual gamers I think are new gamers for the most part, not former core gamers that suddenly decided they wanna play cheap games on a 4 inch screen.
