Re: Throbbing Gristle -

I just ordered it, so I haven't heard it yet...

I've read two reviews, the Guardian says it sounds mostly like older TG but "updated for the 21st century." Brainwashed (a more trust-worthy source in these matters I think) says is sounds unlike anything else in their ouvre...

Re: Bright Eyes - I won't fault them for trying something different, but I am not a fan of this orchestral pop / bad nashville sound...but what do I know, the album I was most anticipating this month is the new Throbbing Gristle record.

Hotel Dusk is unlike anything else currently available, and it will likely be out of print before too long (prices will rise). Pokemon on the other hand will probably be available for the life of the DS, so you can always pick it up later (if you must :P).

[QUOTE="loopy_101"]

[QUOTE="mike7677"]Is this the same SimCity that came out for the SNES?Raiko101

I would belive they would use that format but graphically and playability wise it may be a little weak on the DS'exspectations

Sim City DS is Sim City 3000 if that's what you guys are on about.

...well, minus a ton of features...

Tons of songs by Suicide (Frankie Teardrop), the Eels (Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor), Joy Division (24 hours, Isolation, etc), The Wedding Present, Red House Painters, Elliot Smith, and others are close...but for me I think the most depressing song I've heard is:

"Holocaust" by Big Star

You certainly make a good case for the GBA being one of the best if not the best portable gaming system thus far (though while its gaming library is still developing, I think the DS has surpassed it); however, a lot of the ports were disappointing in performance or graphics, and some of the sequels were not all that inspired (though several of them are fantastic).

It is kind of strange to say that the GBA is better than the NES SNES or Sega Master systems though. Virtually ALL of the games on those systems were "original software." The classic consoles didn't have the crutch of ports to rely on.

From another thread: "Find a moogle. Click on address book. One of the links will say "display friend code." That's your friend code."

Not your usual response, but for me it is probably "Sadness." While it won't be out until at least Q4 2007, with Wii supplies as low as they are, I might not purchase a console until then anyway...
