[QUOTE="bowling-name"]To be honest, she seems to like mini-games a lot.DS Lite: (White, Pink, Black, whatever your g/f would prefer) $130
Screen Protectors: $7 - $10
Case: (This is more important if she is likely to play on-the-go; my favorite are the custom cases made by Debris): $10 - $40
There aren't really any other accessories that you NEED to have (the battery is not one you remove).
Do you have some idea of what your girlfriend likes as far as game type (puzzle/platformer/simulation/rpg/etc)? This would enable us to make better recommendations.
For what it's worth, my girlfriend likes Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, New Super Mario Brothers, and Meteos.

She's been hooked on this game called Tumblebugs lately (one of those pc gamehouse / popcap kind of games), though I know she's been dying to play Nintendogs (she hasn't tried it herself), though I remember she had a blast with Brain Age (whatever the hell that is).
People seem to be recommending Animal Crossing quite a lot. What is it? I just looked up the GS review and I still don't get it. Sorry, I'm not too much of a console / handheld player. I suddenly feel really old.
She seems to hate games with a learn curve. She likes to pop it in her hands, and get right into the game. Don't think she'd last very long with an RPG. So repetetive gameplay might actually be okay, as long as it's addictive. hehe.
Did i mention she likes animals? She likes animals.
Does she like Bejeweled? If so, consider picking up Zoo Keeper. I agree with a lot of the other recommendations here, Brain Age (you already know she likes it), New Super Mario Bros or Super Princess Peach, Nintendogs, Meteos (the Disney version is a little easier at first), Mariokart, Animal Crossing, etc...DS Lite: (White, Pink, Black, whatever your g/f would prefer) $130

There are not really any other accessories that you NEED to have (the battery is not one you remove); although, if you get Animal Crossing (or Mario Kart if she is competitive) you will probably want to make sure you either have a WiFi router or the Nintendo USB wireless connector...

Cmon, I want requests people, REQUESTS!PharaohsVizierI would like to see some action from the Professor Layton games, and Etrian Odyssey (beyond the first three trailers released on the Japanese blog), as well as video from Steel Horizon.
If you look at the breakdown of their scores, you start to see some trends for most DS games. For a game to score so highly it would have to have gameplay, graphics, sound design, and replay value (or reduced price), that are all remarkable for the platform. So far, you have a few games that scored a 10 in one or more of these categories, but at the expense of other categories (e.g. the graphics and sound of Advance Wars).
As others have written, the only thing I see on the horizon that has a chance is probably Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, but who knows how it will actually turn out.
