@techhog89: I’m going to try waiting on my game purchases more now regardless of price ( full price or budget games). Here’s why:

I’ve been burned a few times but games when they drop below $20 and I purchased them on psn only for the game to be the ps plus free game. And was made worse becuase I bought the game because it was a good price not because I needed something to play. So I got mankind divided last month Cus it was cheap. I haven’t played it. It was added to the backlog and now it’s free for ps plus!

I’ve also bought games full price and seen them on sale before I even got around to playing them.

So for me doing me it’ll make sense to wait.

Haven’t purchased the game yet. But another thought came to mind. And in the end I will probably get it on PS4. Nintendo switch will loose out. And it isn’t becuase of graphics vs portability. But the simple fact that soon the game will probably be on a sale where I can get it for 40-60% less on PS4 due to regular psn sales and their flash sales.

And to the guy above that argues this game “feels at home” on a Nintendo platform. I think it’s hard to argue against PlayStation as a home of great games of all type.

I’m going to stray into Sony fanboy territory but I think that’s why PlayStation has been as successful from the ps1 onwards. None of their systems were perfect but they are consistent in finding the right balance of great software, hardware and value proposition. They are also smartly run. And when they made great blunders with the PS3 for example were able to recover that very same generation as well as take the lessons learned to make a better product next go around (PS4)

Just off topic now and sharing personal gaming thoughts. But ps4 will be my PlayStation exclusive (uncharted Spider-Man last of us horizon days gone etc) and third party ( sonic mania, doom, gta5 red dead etc )machine. And switch will be my Nintendo exclusive (mario Zelda animal crossing Metroid splatoon etc) and family games (Mario party Mario kart etc) and whatever 3rd party exclusives support comes like Mario + rabbids for example.

A pc gamer I’m not, so If games are even cheaper on pc I won’t benefit from it.

This does kinda leave Xbox on the outs. I think my Xbox one s will be my last Xbox. I’ll ride it out and play the next ori and what other gems come along. But I’m disinvested in them now.

@verbtex: not sure. But I have a gallop racer game on ps2 and loved it. It was sort of a sim where you bred and managed horses. And you were also the jockey that rode them in races. Not sure what happened to the series after. They may have rebranded as G1 jockey.

@GarGx1: lol good to know other fans are out there.

They can join the other 3000 outlets that do there awards, i honestly don't think anybody cares anymore at this point.

I've been forgetting about them the past few years.

Seems the case as Nintendo has been cleaning up between Mario and Zelda.

The mood was much more celebratory years past when wii u was no competition and uncharted 4 reigned uncontested.

Thanks for all the replies. Trophies mean absolutely nothing to me. I’m surprised at all the people saying no enhancements on PS4. I believe it’s locked 60fps vs not a stable 30 on switch. As well overall presentation will be cleaner at 4k resolution.

I think I’ll give it a try on switch it’s cheaper than a full price game. So this is a good game for me to learn my lesson on. If I’m unhappy with the experience I’ll be more weary of switch versions of games down the road. But if I find my self having a blast and not noticing lower fidelity graphics I’ll be more inclined to lean switch in the future.

Hi SW. I want some help deciding if I should get sonic mania for my PS4 pro or Nintendo switch?

I have a 4k 55” Sony tv. I wonder if the added graphical fidelity and 60fps on pro is better than *potential* portability and multiplayer . I say potential because my switch is basically a home console. I dont really take it out the home much. Even at home I don’t really like using it handled. Much prefer to play games with switch docked and with my pro controller. To the point where one time the tv was busy and instead of playing mario odyssey on the switche I moved the dock to another tv lol

Buuut you never know one day I may be away and possible have switch with me so that would be handy to have the game. I’d never take PS4 with me if I travel (which isn’t often).

Lastly how is the multiplayer in sonic mania? Is it worthwhile? I have a daughter and if I get it for switch we can play together. But on PS4 I only have one DualShock.

Thoughts?
