Apparently all the "patch" did was introduce Steamworks DRM into the main executable [TESV.exe is the only modified file]. This means that anyone using either the LAA utility or other methods of enabling memory usage above 2GB either have to stop using those methods or revert to an older version of the file [the older version still works apparently, for now at least].

Download a mod like BuildCraft or Industrial Craft. Make machines to do the tedious work for you. Of course it takes quite a bit of mining to get the materials needed to build those machines. Other options include: Play creative mode or use a mod like TooManyItems so you don't have to mine for anything.

As others have stated, play however is more comfortable to you. That is the great thing about PC Gaming, you aren't relegated to a single method of control. Personally I am horrible using controllers for just about anything, thus I prefer Mouse/KB combination for all of my games [I rarely ever play console games, my controller skills are just too horrible and the games get annoying]

[QUOTE="carlosjuero"][QUOTE="Arthur96"]

Jesus how much do I have to say this. The game was 25 hours long for me. Ugh.

Arthur96

... good for you?

As in the entire game. From start to finish.

So... you played an entire, unreleased game. From start to finish in 25 hours. I re-iterate. Good for you. How many side missions did you do?

Edit: Also - since the game is not officially released the only method of obtaining it would be via unauthorized means. Pretty sure GameSpot doesn't condone those unauthorized means.

[QUOTE="carlosjuero"]Just a note: All preview gameplay length data is based on the Review/Preview build which ends after completing the first hub of Detroit. That is only ~1/4 to 1/3 of the games total content [if not less]. So, if it takes people an average of 20 hours to complete just the preview build, you can at least double it [to be pessimistic] to come up with a general idea of how long the game will be. There will, of course, be people who don't bother looking around for secondary missions and get through it faster [and then complain that it wasn't long enough to be worth its price].Arthur96

It is just the key that matters. When you buy it from Steam you will get a product key that you have to enter into your NCSoft account. Meaning you can easily apply it to the account you made w/ your retail copy of the game.

I have watched quite a few videos on YouTube showing gameplay of the "leaked" preview build and.. well, lets just say it gets things right that IW got horribly wrong. From the looks of it the PC interface is... wait for it... optimised for PCs! Shocker, I know [damn you IW]. They brought back much of what made Deus Ex 1 awesome in my eyes - the levels look pretty large [IW was broken up into far to many enclosed chunks to make it easier for the console to digest] and there are tons of things to explore and avenues to do things. They brought back the typing in of codes/passwords for hacking/bypassing [rather than just pointing a multi-tool at it and going or having a passcode added and just open the affected terminal/door]. There seem to be multiple ways to complete any mission [and mix and match methods without serious repurcussion - see the PCG "diaries" for some.. interesting play style choices (especially the Psycho diary)] - there are little side missions you could easily miss if you are a run'n'gunner. Just from the various official videos and the youtube videos of the unauthorized preview "leak" my hype level is actual still quite high. There is some nostalgia in the PCG review score, that is to be expected, but in the end I think this one makes up for their scoring for DA 2.

That looks like a copy/paste of their old EADM service ToS - they changed it to be unlimited [I still have access to download Hellgate: London from their DL service]. I am guessing they didn't bother modifying the ToS [I know they didn't when they changed the EADLM service to be unlimited rather than 1 year]. Mostly the ToS is just covering their butts - I would be shocked if EA kept with the 1 year limit as they would be the only DDL service to have a time limit [for the big places at least, I don't know if any small time DDL services have time limits or not]

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="flipin_jackass"]I'd prefer my games in one account, but since my collection is across many DD services already, it doesn't really matter . I have an EA account which I use for EADM in some games. As long as I can use that account, no worries for me.Ownsin

And THIS IS THE EXACT reason I still buy retail. I can look at my cupboard and see all the boxes neatly placed.... my collection.

Well dude sooner or later you'll have to convert to DD... Because in some years from now, retail will stop for PC. So you better be ready.

As long as Bandwidth caps exist there will be a market for Retail game purchases.
