Real Time Settler is the mod that allowed you to create your own settlements - though it is still quite buggy and is no longer being supported by the original author [they have moved on to New Vegas]. FWE integrates RI Primary Needs to do its hunger/thirst/sleep [http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2125]

No problem :) SotS2 looks awesome - they have taken much of the feedback from SotS fans and incorporated it into the new engine, I can't wait to see more game play videos when it gets closer to release.

Components mainly fall into 2 categories: Mission Package and Weapons. Mission packages are selected for 3 sections of the ship [Front, Center, Engine] and determine the basic "role" of the ship [eg, the Squadron CnC mid section package turns the ship into a Command and Control ship - which allows you to have more ships on the battle screen than without it, and allows you to choose the order reinforcements come in]. Different packages have a different number of weapon hard points - some hard points can only accept smaller weapons, others can take large weapon mounts [sort of like choosing to use Heavy Mount options for ship hulls in SE V - only the size of the mount is determined by the mission package/ship size]. Combat is basically real time [though you can pause the action] - when combat is initiated you have the option to try to resolve peacefully, let the AI fight the combat [auto resolve], or fight the combat on the battle screen. The Battle Screen takes you to a 3D space zone where you can strategically move your ships, focus fire/keep at range/etc, and pick and choose how to meet the enemy. Combat is visually much more exciting that GalCiv II [and definitely a huge leap over SE V]. AI is generally ok in managing to not get itself killed - there will always be a little micromanaging but it isn't horrible [in my opinion at least].

It is a great game in its own right. Every time you start a new game you get a randomized tech tree, meaning that it will be difficult to have any 2 playthroughs be exactly the same. Customization wise it is on the lower end of 4X games - nowhere near as complex as GalCiv II [in relation to customizing the look of your ships at least - each ship section has a set look depending on race and a specific number of weapon hard points], and slightly less than Space Empires V [only in component decision though, you have more options per hull type in my opinion but hulls are much more specialized]. I would say that SoTS + Argos Naval Yard [or the GoTY] is a great buy. I purchased both a long while ago at full price and never regretted it.

[QUOTE="carlosjuero"]You have to actually execute the downloaded file. It is an installer, not a self contained mod archive.sonofsmeagle
ok what do you mean by execute it

Run it. [If you need further clarification this means double click on it to start execution, this will bring up whatever installer interface it has]

You can try forcing it off with your graphics card software [NVidia Control Panel, ATI CCC]

Just saw the deal. Sounds pretty good.

I want to buy the first game, but gamespot gave it 6. I dont know what to do...

I dont really want to fill my Steam account with medicore games just because they were cheap...

What do you say guys?

I will just say this: If I let game review sites govern my choice of games to purchase/play then I wouldn't play very many games at all [nor would I play any of the games I have really enjoyed]

I liked it much better in its first incarnation - when Flagship Studios was working on it to be their F2P MMO [and hopefully rescue them from the problems w/ HG:L]. Sadly when Flagship shut down Mythos went bye bye too [the rights ended up being purchased by Hanbitsoft, the main developers behind it now - Hanbitsoft also threw a copyright claim on a YouTube video of mine from the Flagship Mythos Beta (funny enough they only threw a claim down on one of the Mythos videos I had up, the other one is still alive and well)]

mythos-europe.com is the main site for the Mythos relaunch. It is still in beta right now if I remember right, but it shouldn't be hard to get into the beta [they have had key giveaways at most of the major gaming portals]. Personally I liked the version Flagship was working on prior to their being shut down better. The new model/changes are not to my liking.
