Slight de-rail -but as a fellow gamer who enjoys the DnD system [I also like DA:O, thats a different matter though] I was wondering if you are looking forward to the new Neverwinter game? It is looking to be a sort of hybrid MMO/co-op MP experience (rather than having a full SP experience and the whole PW system of NWN/NWN2)

Well, as much as I hate them, congratulations Bioware. I am sure it will get enormous praise throughout the board.

Best RPG Combat ever? Hmm, I highly doubt that, I doubt it is anywhere near as good as Dungeons and Dragons.

Maroxad

why would you hate bioware? =(

and i am not a big fan of DnD combat, personally. I did not enjoy it in older games or newer ones like NWN 2 as much as that from DA. hitting a character itself took way too long.

I was being dramatic, hate is a very strong word and there are few companies I hate (Zynga being the only video game company), I do however have a strong dislike towards Bioware, but I dont exactly hate them.

Also I would like to say that different strokes for different folks, not everyone can be expected to enjoy Dungeons and Dragons combat. I do, others dont. It is the magic combat I like not the physical combat.

Thanks for the link! Might even be able to tune in and see more than what their preview video[s] showed.

So your opinion that the game looked excellent in a controlled release video is better than an opinion that it will not be good? Both are based on speculation and not founded on solid fact/experience. I didn't think the PC gameplay video looked all that good - but it was a development build video and I withhold judgement on games until I can play them myself.

Edit: darned forums keep eating up sections of posts for no reason.

[QUOTE="Roland123_basic"] because apparently people are just dead set on not liking DA2.... even though previews and now reviews are saying it is an excellent game, people are just dumb and think they know better even though they havent played it. all i see is negativity for the sake of negativity towards DA2. none of you actually know anything about the game beyond the ONE pc gameplay vid that has been shown, which BTW LOOKED EXCELLENT. im pretty sure the community director for Treyarch was right. negative gamers are what is wrong with the industry today, not lack of innovation.

Roland123_basic

why is my opinion better? because its my opinion, and frankly it is the only one that matters. also, because i wasnt jumping on the bandwagon of making fun of/putting down DA2 just to look cool. gamers have this thing about them where if a lot of people think something is bad, then it becomes cool to think it is bad as well......

well guess what, DA2 is an excellent game as everyone should have expected considering it is from bioware, and all of you that said it was going to tank were flat out wrong.

i fully expect to see all of the naysayers on this forum now become huge DA2 fans, singing its praises and completely denying that they ever said anything bad about the game. i will then laugh at how much of a hypocrite they are, because that seems to be ever so popular on these forums.

Clarification: I have never said DA 2 will tank. All I said in my post was that the video did not impress me. You cannot say DA 2 is an excellent game without more information anymore than people can say it is a crap game without information. As soon as you start saying it is an "Excellent game" with no firsthand knowledge then you invalidate your right to tell people off who say it is crap with no firsthand knowledge. Thats just my opinion of course. The biggest problem with the game industry is not Negative players... its players who come to uninformed conclusions (Whether for or against) with nothing to back them up. This allows mediocre games to thrive and some gems to get left in the dust [opinions on what is mediocre and what is a gem nonwithstanding].

Steam cant force its features onto developers.

ionusX

mm

life were better if we only had steam and they were froced to .. sadly the day hasnt a probably wont dawn in tis lifetime.. hardcopy is still to much of a profit to be made by big name developers and lower end ones cant afford to ignore a potential sale.

and even if it was to happen say overnight pirates would jsut orbital ion cannon steam into DDoS and and raid it for all the accounts and keys its worth.. it needs to remain "inconspiquous"

Life is never better when you have no choice or competition. Competition keeps prices at a more sane level and gives companies a reason to innovate. Also, Steam is hardly inconspicuous.

Your best bet is to google for {game name} save location Most of the time you will get a quick result telling you exactly where to look for various game save files.

You might be able to register the serial with the EA Download Manager and download it direct from them, can't hurt to try. Most of the newer EA games have the ability to be downloaded from EA DLM [most of the EA games I bought via D2D have a download ready for me in my EA DLM account, even though all I ever did was register the game with EA].

One thing that constantly amazes me is the lack of patience people have with older games. When I was growing up and getting into gaming there was no voice acting in games (apart from, sometimes, cut scenes/intro movies). Is reading really such a bad thing? Why have gamers gone from enjoying good gameplay to hating things that make you read and may not be "pretty" by modern standards? The written word is being killed off by people too impatient to sit back, drink in the atmosphere, and read. On the original topic: Morrowind requires no mods to be playable (to me), Oblivion I feel the need to extensively mod just to make it semi-enjoyable. Thats just my opinion though.
