Yes both sites are download services, on the EAstore it will give you the opportunity to select digital delivery (ie download to your PC). Once you have purchased the game you download the EA downloader log in with your newly created account and download the game at your leisure.

I have never used Direct2Drive but I believe the process is similar, you buy the game, get hold of the D2D download program, log in and download the game.

i dont see why its the big that alan wake is not coming to the pc. there is already a good enough games exclusive to the pc.

TheShadowLord07

It is more about the principle of the thing, it is just another example of Microsoft stabbing PC gaming in the back to prop up it's loss making console. If memory serves Alan Wake was show cased on the PC and for a while it was going to be a major title for the PC. Then Microsoft seeing that Sony is snipping at their heels decide the PC can take another one for the team and screw PC gaming over.

As for the PC haveing enough games exclusive ......... erm care to name them ? Off the top of my head I can only think of Starcraft 2 this year. Unless we are talking about MMO's which I am not interested in.

You can buy it from the EAstore here :-

http://eastore.ea.com

http://www.direct2drive.com

Not sure which is cheaper though it will depend on your country.

Sims 3 isn't an expansion it is a stand alone game. So yes you can buy it, download it and it will run fine you do not need any of the previous sims titles to run Sims 3.

Over the last 25 years, gaming industry overused the fantasy atmospher, the devlopers need to be more innovative and create other atmophere that does not include elves, dwarves, orc, undead and demons.

chapman86

Never has a truer thing ever been said on the net, I am sick and tired of dragons, orcs, elves and all this fantasy crap. One of the reasons why I am so hyped about Mass Effect 2 is the fact I am not going to be battling a bloody dragon with some poxy sword. I really do not understand why the games industry is so obsessed with elves and orcs

Whilst it is true that fallout 3 is pretty abysmal in terms of stability it was discovered some of the crashes were caused by "outside" programs. One of the main culprits of fallout 3 crashes is a program called "ffdshow" if you have this program on your PC (usually part of a codec pack) then either uninstall it, disable it or add fallout 3 to the exceptions list in ffdshow. It won't cure everyones problems but it might help one or two people.

I am afraid it is bad news, Steam is a windows only program and therefore you can only run it in windows. It may be possible for you to install windows on your Imac using something called "Boot Camp" that will be the only way you will be able to use steam on an Imac.

You might as well give it a go, I mean at £2 you are hardly going to slit your wrists if it is a pile of cack and who knows it might just be the best game you play this year. It's funny really these steam sales really generate a lot of interest it is a pity publishers don't put two and two together and realise lower prices = more sales.

Let's not make assumptions for everyone because you have some hate for this game.DanielDust

Which bit of "I was a long time GTA fan" did you NOT understand, I love GTA but GTA 4 is such an appalling port that it is right people criticise it rather than kissing Rockstars arse which is what you seem to be doing. There are clear faults and bugs with the game that Rockstar have not fixed over a year later, hell they are even introducing new ones.

I do NOT have such a bug, and I never had any issues with GTA IV, except the shadows (P.S, now that you explained it better, no I do not have a character shadow floating at night when I'm driving in a car.DanielDust

Then you obviously haven't patched your game to the latest version. This bug was introduced with Patch 5 and it affects both ATI and Nvidia users. As for the shadows yes you do have the bug, I have met several people that claimed they don't have this bug until I told them how to see it. So do this get a car and drive to an area where you can clearly see the car shadow on the road. Then wait till 8pm (in game time) at exactly 8pm you will see the car shadow switch off leaving you with just the driver shadow. If you haven't updated to the latest patch then you won't even have a driver shadow.

You're a single person and you might have saw some others with these issues on the official forums, or other random forums, still I can't even begin to understand where >100=thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions.DanielDust

I am not just a single person GTAforums is filled with people having the same problems, the fact is most people accept this is one of the worst ports ever yet you can't seem to accept it. I think it's you that is in a minority here not me. All the bugs and screwups I have shown have been met with "oh that doesn't matter" or "oh ignore that" or "oh that is being petty". There is no escaping the fact that GTA 4 on the PC is a total failure and to defend it just makes you look silly.

Just for **** and giggles could you tell me why there are blurred edges in your PC version? tried definition? if so you don't have any reason to complain - inferior driver spawning? if you mean less cars, did you try actually setting the car spawn rate higher? (if that isn't what you meant w/e) - no road reflexion on the tires for me - about the moon yeah, but there is a mod, any other missing props or you just mentioned one texture and now half the game is missing? - about shadows I dunno, I never really noticed this, also you never really drive in places with strong enough light that would cast a shadow. But hey, if you hate it, so be it, have fun hating it.DanielDust

I wasn't talking about the blurred edges in the PC version I was talking about the horrible jaggies that exist in the game because Rockstar thought it would be a really great idea to release a game with absolutely NO AA. The inferior driver spawning means just that the actual DRIVERS in the car. No I wasn't talking about setting the car spawn rate higher (there is no such setting) the only setting for cars is to increase the NUMBER of cars on the road which I have up on full. The game has inferior driver spawning. That is non-player cars do not have any driver sitting in them until the car is practically on top of you, in the console version you can snipe drivers when their cars are pretty far away from you, you can't do that in the PC version and no setting changes it.

As for the missing assets oh you mean there is a moon mod, well yeah I should totally rely on the modding community to fix what Rockstar screwed up shouldn't I. Naturally I shouldn't complain then if someone else picked up what Rockstar screwed up. As for you not noticing the reflection bug, you have it everyone has it, it was a bug introduced with the last patch you couldn't make this up you really couldn't :-

GTA overlay screw up

As for your comment on the shadows that's funny when I drive at night I find the lights cast shadows and it really does add something to the game to see a driver shadow floating attached to your car but your car doesn't cast a shadow at all. But hey we should ignore all these issues should we ? yeah lets just ignore the complete screw up Rockstar did of GTA 4 on the PC. I loved the GTA series right up till GTA 4 and yeah I actually loved the game GTA 4 but the shoddy work and absolutely unprofessional amatuer behaviour of Rockstar with regard to the PC version means I won't be giving that crap company any more money.
