OMG SOMETHING THAT ISNT STEAM SUXORZ! GFWL is actually pretty good IMO, besides, what's the point of Steam Achievements, there isn't something like gamerscore, levels, etc. so... what's the point?

KillerJuan77

It could be argued there is very little point to Xbox achievements, PS3 Trophies and the gamerscore seems pretty pointless too. A lot of people are happy to see Fallout New Vegas use steam and steam works simply because we won't be forced to waste money on points if we want the DLC (ie having to buy 800ms points to get DLC being sold for 700 mspoints).

There definitely seems to be a growing trend of GFWL abandonment amongst the software industry and long may it continue :D .

So it was $4000. I stand corrected

Someone should have shown them a Crysis pic on an 8800gt with CCCmod and high settings

Well inflation is a killer these days, so I imagine if we weren't getting force unleased 2 they would be going "oh now you need a $5000 PC". Oddly enough my £500 quadcore with GTX260 was able to play force unleased at 2048 x 1152 @ 30fps (with the odd dip now and again).

I really can't see there being anything for sale this week on steams "lucasarts week" that will entice me to part with money. It is pretty damn tragic that Lucasarts rep has sunk so low. Still hopefully someone somewhere will get something out of this sale. After all there has to be a caveman that hasn't played Jedi Knight Academy yet :P

[QUOTE="adamosmaki"]Is this the Force unleashed that needed a $5000 pc in order to play on console level? JangoWuzHere

Huh?

When the first force unleashed was being developed for every platform under the sun except the PC Lucasarts responded to questions about why no PC version with :-

Our goal was we wanted to get this game to as many people as possible. I definitely wish it had been possible. However the PC being the gaming platform that it is, someone with a $4,000 high-end system would definitely be able to play the Euphoria, the DMM and really technical elements of the game. But someone with a low-end PC would have a watered down experience, they would have to turn all the settings down and it wouldn't be the same game. On the other hand if we made that game for as many people as possible, because we are trying to make mass market games, something that everybody can enjoy, well then it's not taking advantage of what those $4,000 systems can do. So one way or the other depending on how you build that lead PC SKU, it's not going to be for the same amount of people, it's going to be not as good or only for a select few people.Lucasarts moron

They further compounded their douche bag status by announcing there was going to be a PC version. They announced it on 1st April and later on admitted it was an april fools joke. Seriously Lucasarts can go where the sun doesn't shine and where George Lucas pulls all his ideas from.

ROFL @ Lucasarts Week, do they even have enough content on the PC these days to even justify a "Lucasarts day" never mind a week. Ah well nice to have a week where I won't be spending money on steam after all I already own most of the decent Lucasarts games from years ago and they haven't exactly produced anything recent on the PC worth buying.

Pretty much agree with what others say here, it is ok DLC but I was left with the impression it could have been better. I certainly don't think it does justice to the Liara character but what we got of her was not bad so to speak. The Shadow Broker ship is of course cool but one thing that does niggle me is that there is no "docking" animation. With all major locations in ME 2 you are presented with a nice lil bit of CGI representing the docking/landing, but with Shadow Broker it just goes to a loading screen. Ho well you can't have everything, I do wish we could get a decent expansion though rather than these sub 2 hour mini-episodes.

It seems as if they have FINALLY removed the download link for this DLC, it has only been up for 4 and a half hours already  . This also means that there probably won't be a fix any time soon which sucks but to be honest I am past caring now.

its possible it corrupted on upload or when the files were complied into the installer but its a bit sloppy releasing it before a final test.AGMing

Yeah and they are compounding their sloppiness by leaving the link up to download the garbage file. It was pretty obvious within minutes that there was something very wrong with the file and if Bioware had been a responsible company they would have removed the link to avoid people wasting their bandwidth. It is now nearly 3 hours since the file went live and the damn link is still there. This is incredibly unprofessional of Bioware to say the least.

As AGMing said do not download the shadow broker DLC yet, something pretty sloppy has happened and the file basically consists of 1.5gbs of zero's. It will not run on ANY pc so do yourself a favour, save your bandwidth and don't think it will work on your PC because it won't

Bioware are saying "they are looking into the compatibility issues" yeah right since when has a 1.5gb junk file ever been a compatibility issue ? It will naturally get fixed but I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

To me the issue isn't pricing here. Now if Crysis 2 is $60 on the PC then fair enough BUT that means the console version should be $70 then. There is a clear distinct extra cost with console games in the form of the "console royalty fee" which accounts for that $10 difference. The PC does not have a royalty fee therefore all games on the PC should be at least $10 less.

So yeah if they insist on charging $60 for the PC version that is fine as long as they charge $70 for the console version. Oh and as for this piracy rubbish there is a very clear reason why Crytek went mulitplatform, put simply it's because they could. There is nothing stopping a PC developer from going multiplatform, there is no company willing to bribe a developer to stay PC centric (unlike the consoles which have Sony and MS throwing money all other the place). I believe Crysis sold between 2 - 3 million which is pretty damn good in this day and age. However it doesn't matter, even if Crysis had sold 12 million on the PC you would still be seeing Crysis 2 on the consoles simply because they can.

There are a couple of ways to do it, the easiest way is to go to :-

http://www.masseffectsaves.com/

On that site you will find a wide range of PC save games, just choose the save game that has the decisions you want and then do a New Game + . It doesn't matter what the save game shepard looks like because you will be given an opportunity to change their look at the start of ME 2.

The second more fiddly way to do it is to use the Mass Effect Save game editor which you can get here :-

http://www.masseffectsaves.com/mods.php

Scroll down to the tools section and you should see gibbed's Save Editor. Download it and load a COMPLETED ME 2 savegame, edit the ME 1 decisions save the file and then start a "New Game +" using that save file and ME 2 will take into account the new decisions.

As for whether the decision affects the story in ME 2, I would say at the moment "not really". There are some subtle differences in the conversations you have on the Citidel but that is about it. In ME 2 the council has very little consequence, but it is widely believed what you did at the end of ME 1 will have an important bearing on ME 3.
