It sounds like a Gremlin game called "Hardwar" you can see a video of it here :-

The only thing that throws me is the "recharging under light generators" I seem to recall that was a feature of "starglider" and "starglider 2".

It's pretty ridiculous that most of the titles they have on "sale" are not available in my region (United Kingdom). I was tempted to give Sims 3 a got for £16 but nope not available in my region. Ho well the dragon age bundle looks tempting ......... oh guess what not available in my region, yet for some strange reason I can buy Dragon Age from steam in my region.

You can Google all you want - there will be no fix found for GTA:SA will not work on Windows 7 - try it, I did... you get NOTHING BUT COMPLAINTS and NO SOLUTIONS.magusat999

I have all the GTA's on the PC downloaded via steam and all of them work in Windows 7 64bit, the only thing I have to do is change the affinity so that they only run on one core of my quadcore (for some reason the mouse does not respond in VC and SA if you have the game running on multiple cores). I didin't need to do anything fancy to get them up and running either. So I am not sure what is going on with other people that can't get gta sa running on their win 7 setup.

At an rate it is a bit much to blame steam for games not working, I have bought one or two games from Impulse and they don't work but I don't blame Impulse. The games the Op listed have problems working no matter how you bought them for a starters GTA SA is an old game using old tech and it is hit and miss as to whether it works on any machine. The less said about GTA 4 the better that is a mess on pretty much every machine regardless of whether you own the retail copy or the steam copy (I have both retail and steam copies of the game).

I am just going to throw this out here and see if it hits home, but could it be Deus Ex ? I seem to remember there was an ocean lab level which featured a lot of swimming and it was all done in first person. Here is a vid of the Ocean Lab level :-

What you are talking about is called "crossplay" and unfortunately for the most part the answer is no. As far as I am aware there are only 3 games that support cross play between GFWL and XBL. They are Shadowrun, Universe at War and I can't remember what the third game was. In short crossplay between different platforms is pretty much non-existent and will remain like that for a long long time to come.

You could have given people a bit more info on the DLC :P . Here is what Bioware had to say on the latest DLC :-

Hi Everyone

We are pleased to announce this morning that the next Mass Effect 2 DLC episode The Lair of the Shadowbroker will be available on the PC and Xbox 360 on Tuesday September 7 and will cost 800 BioWare/Microsoft points. Not only is this an excellent adventure through Illium and the shadowbroker's secret lair, this new DLC will add the Shadow Broker intel center, new research, and five new achievements – and give fans from Mass Effect 1 the chance to continue a relationship with Liara.Bioware Dude

They have also done 4 new screenies for us to feast our eyes on :-

Hi Res 1280 x 720 screenies can be found here. I am looking forward to this DLC, I am hoping that since it is 800 BW points (£6.19 in real money) we might actually get something with a bit more length and a bit more squad interaction than previous offerings.

I wouldn't call MW 2 a "PC shooter" I can't comment on Bad Company 2 because I am soo sick and tired of "modern warfare" FPS games it isn't even funny so I never bothered with BC 2. I want more games like Stalker on the PC that is what I would class as a proper PC shooter, something that goes beyond "bang bang you are dead repeat ad infinitum".

I can say with all honestly I couldn't care less if we see another Halo on the PC. I wasn't particularly impressed with either Halo 1 or 2 (never even finished 2 it got so boring). This is the thing that really annoys me about stuff like "Halo Reach coming to the PC possibly" I am a PC gamer I want to play PC games. If I wanted to play a console game like Halo Reach then I would go and buy myself a console.

My original copy of Mass Effect does that...Lox_Cropek

Unfortunately like all anti-piracy triggers they aren't 100% fool proof. I had a legit copy and occassionally I ran into this problem myself (very rarely). I googled the problem and that is how I found out it was an anti-piracy trigger. It was the same situation with GTA 4, there are several anti-piracy triggers in that game and occassionally legitimate owners of the game would be affected by the anti-piracy measures.

I have finished Mass Effect 1 dozens of times now and whilst the anti-piracy trigger is annoying (especially if you have a legit copy) it isn't too problematic and certainly never stopped me from finishing the game.

So he's having issues and it's due to pirating? Do explain, unless it's like what I hear about lifted versions of Arkham Asylum.

Sheppard212

I believe nethernova is referring to this part of the Op's post :-

i can't even scope/shoot for no apparent reason. VINCEEEY

This was an anti-piracy trigger that was never fully cracked, when your guns heated up they would stop working completely and refuse to cool down for the rest of the level.
