@H4num4n @clynch0527 but once again, nobody knows anything for sure. Regardless, I'm still sticking with my PC for primary gaming, and the playstation for its exclusives. Having a gaming pc, most of the games that I play that are on the Xbox, come to PC as well (fable, witcher 2, etc) But I'll never get a game like Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavenyl Sword, God of War(though the latest one sucked) on pc.

@H4num4n @clynch0527 true, but when sony took out the backwards compatibility in the ps3, it helped them lower the price dramatically almost instantly.

@H4num4n @clynch0527 BC is great and all, but if it causes the price to go up, that will discourage some people. But if they keep it priced low enough so people will buy it, they won't profit as quickly. Everyone knows how much they love money, and would want to profit as soon as possibly. If the 360 comes out at a $500-$600 price point, it wont sell as quickly as the 360 did.

@H4num4n @clynch0527 And if that is true, thats going to significantly raise the price of the console. The ps3 did the same thing which is one of the reasons for such a high price point. I honestly would hope Microsoft would not do this. It would be a poor decision on their part. Though an "add-on" would be a hell of a lot worse, haha. Still, the Windows 8 os is still going to be a huge degrading factor on the console.

@H4num4n @clynch0527 And if the rumors of it using the FULL WINDOWS 8 OS are true, they already lost, haha.

@H4num4n @clynch0527 Pretty sure I'm reading "add on sold seperatly" and not "built in"

@H4num4n @clynch0527 the VGLeaks source syas backwards compatibility will require an "additional add-on" (which if thats the case, will be sold seperatly knowing Microsoft).

"
Durango itself will also always be online like any other device (correct with rumors), but it will not be a requirement to playlocal content and it will not prevent playing used games. Putting in an Xbox 360 disc into Durango will prompt the user to attach the supporting device that is sold separately. By separating the two devices and their functions it will ensure price competitiveness for both pieces of hardware. Microsoft’s delay in announcing these products from April goes more inline with not having a physical set of devices to show (among specification updates), which should be ready by May or June when this information is officially released."

@H4num4n If Microsoft announces the x86 chip in the next xbox, your source you posted earlier, is misleading and misinformed.

@H4num4n

This time, the source of our rumor comes from Bloomberg, which cites “people with knowledge of the matter” when it says that the Microsoft’s next video game console will sport AMD’s x86 chip. Because the new console will have a different chip—and not the IBM Power PC chip in the Xbox 360—the post says that the new system will not be backwards compatible with the current generation of Xbox 360 titles.
You were saying?

@H4num4n @surferosh Not to mention, those were the specs reported back in January before the ps4 was announced. And now we are seeing different specs. We cant possibly go by that report as his only source is VGLeaks was from January and is calling the PS4 by that rumored "Orbis" name, which now we know that IS NOT the name. I'm not saying current rumors are true, but we still know nothing for sure. And I don't think any other source does either. So we will see.
