@ShadowOfKratos @clynch0527 even if the company is the only one, i would still want to see them try to better themselves every generation. competition helps with that.
@ShadowOfKratos @clynch0527 yea its good for both actually. i mean if there is no competition, i would want a company to think "oh well no one is rising above us or competing with us, so we shouldnt have to focus that much on our products anymore"
@ryogapower @clynch0527 and what an even more retarded and fucked up response you just gave as you clearly didnt read where i said "I DONT MEAN THAT INTENTIONALLY blah blah blah" it was a joke you fucking moron. as in most people who arent gamers seem to think the gaming community has no life. seriously. i would have hoped my last sentence about common sense would have been enough to let anyone reading it know, but apparently it doesnt apply to you.
@ShadowOfKratos I would honestly hope M$ has not implemented these features into the console. Competition is good for a business and if this turns out to be true, the PS4 will have no competition. Yes, it will mean better sales figures, but also lead to a decline in the introduction of better features and services.
@Toxidragon199 @clynch0527 @banana23man @SteelVelocity Photoshop on PC, is completely different than Photoshop on a MAC, I currently use it on PC, as yes, it is cheaper. But it is alot smoother and faster on a mac. The audio and video editing tools that are exclusive to a MAC are far superior to programs like Adobe After effects, vegas pro, etc. I have two friends who are video editors, one was actually on the set of The Crazies. In their world, they edit video on a mac, purely because it is better optimized for it. PC does have its advantages over a MAC, like compatibility with more programs, a much more user friendly interface, and of course better for gaming. But in terms of visual editing, it really doesn't compare.
@banana23man @SteelVelocity i can see where you are coming from in your response as Apple products are highly priced. But then again, we have no idea if he is any sort of graphic designer, audio/video editor, and if that were the case, then his choice to buy apple products are justifiable. Apple products are better designed to take on such tasks. I love Apple's computers. Hate the Iphone and Itunes, but love the computers. Hey, the guy could even be rich as hell. The point is, MOST gamers are in the middle to lower class population and honestly could be spending their money on better things than gaming.
@skiggy29 actually developers have stated that certain ps3 games, the 360 could not handle. so yes in terms of power, the ps3 does take the cake, and like redleg stated, it was extremely hard to develop for. most of the multiplatform games were developed for one system and ported to the ps3, and taking a quality loss in the process. This is why you look at the exclusives in terms of visuals as actually being more powerful. the reason being is because of storage space. games like Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid 4 would have actually been impossible on the 360 and still look as good. Why? Because the disc limitation on an xbox disc is 9.8gb, where as the ps3 limitations were 25gb on a single layer, and 50gb on a dual layer. This leads to larger texture files and more content. And because of these larger files, the hardware needs to be able to push it and display it. The 360 does not have the capabilites to do so, as the ps3 had to have the ability to, since it was exclusive to it. As for the Witcher, play it maxed on PC and you will see how far from close the 360 version is compared to it. (Yes, I have played it maxed out on my pc) It doesnt even look as good as the PC version on low settings. It does look good, but still far off from looking "VERY close" to the pc version. the game was developed for PC, and was watered down for the console. As far as the games you are naming, how can you simply compare in terms of visuals. First you can't even compare uncharted to crysis, simply because they are two completely different genre of games. The storyline in Uncharted is a hell of a lot better and more in depth than Crysis. Crysis is a good series, dont get me wrong, but just a poor storyline. You said Killzone. dude, still a better game than Halo 4. the only good halo, was the first one. granted 4 did make up for how bad 2 and 3 were. And once again, you cant compare killzone and gears as they are different genres and are far from being similar. Gears of War is about humans vs an alien race. Killzone is about two different human societies fighting in a war. One is a third person shooter, the other is a first person shooter the only two games that you can compare here are god of war and dante's inferno. they are very similar. but you also said nothing you haven't seen on 360. i honestly don't recall the 360 getting an exclusive even comparable to the god of war series. some would probably argue that worthless Too Human game, which actually got pulled by court order for screwing up people's consoles. so once again, something EXCLUSIVE to the xbox, that is comparable to the god of war series. and i want to hear a game that was actually decent and worth playing.
@starbottlecaps by bogging the system down, im talking about it getting in the way. you're saying you are pleased with irrelevant sponshorship ads popping up? trying to get you to view some new car thats out or something random like that? i highly doubt you select it everytime you see it. if at all. if it has to do with the console, like a game or something, fully understandable. its like going on the internet to a specific website and an ad pops up that has absolutely nothing to do with what you want to look at, what do you do? you close it immediately. or like one of those obnoxious ads that play on a website with sound, so you have to find it and mute it. its completely pointless. its just useless junk to clutter the screen with. casual gaming is define as being able to simply pick up your control, turn on your system, select the game you want, and play it. the other stuff being right in your face when you turn the system on completely kills that. especially if you cant chose what shows up. at least with the ps3, you can categorize each section of the XMB. you cant choose that with the xbox, its just there. and to go with your internet comment, to disable those ads, disconnect from the internet. im left without a choice to leave it on if i want to play online. thats what i'm saying, it is literally FORCED on you. if you ask any REAL gamer , they will tell you that a casual gamer plays a game just to play. they don't care about anything indepth, they just want to simply play a game. a hardcore gamer on the other hand, they take the time to do everything in the game, they want more features. with the original xbox, and ps2, ps1, gcube, and before those were casual gaming systems. they had a simple menu for the games and a simple memory system. that is casual. yes consoles to date have their casual gaming experiences, but they can no longer be identified as a casual gaming system. as they now do more than just play games. you look at the ps3, and the Wii, you can take them online, and not worry about having random things you dont care about come up on your screen. the casual gamer doesnt care that the system is letting them know what game or movie is coming out. they don't care about the ads on it. when i did own a 360, plenty of people that didn't would look at mine and actually ask why i have all those ads on it. these were people who arent hardcore gamers. you won't get that kind of response with the ps3 and wii. I do consider myself to be probably a midcore gamer. I play a game to simply beat the game, and very rarely do I care about a 100% completion unless its actually going to change the game somehow. On some occasions I do like to go back through a game I beat and try to do things differently or find everything, but i don't care about it. I don't care about getting every achievement. I'd rather a cookie pop out of or something.
