I suggest you do some reading. The French only "won" because they had the British fighting the war for them. By the end the French military had long since run out of manpower and been defeated by the Germans. As I said before, they had poor leadership, poor weapons, and couldn't win a battle on their own to save their lives.

Read about some of the early battles of the war and you will learn that the french went into battle wearing bright red and blue uniforms, because they thought wearing camoflague like the Germans would make them "uncivilized." German machine gunners picked them off by the tens of thousands. It was idiotic crap like that which led to their defeat.

Between the Franco-Prussian War, WWI, and WW2, France should have long ago been annexed by Germany. The only reason France exists today is because of the US and UK.

America would still be independent without France, it just would have been a longer process like in Canada or Australia.

It's not a matter of taking anything apart. You simply can't upgrade the video card in about 99.9% of notebooks. The GPU is soldered on to the motherboard.

He either needs to get a new laptop or build a desktop with a good video card.

I absolutely hated it, and the fact that it requires all of these user created mods just to make it tolerable speaks volumes about how crappy it is. What was up with the lousy gun play, or the dialogue which they put almost no effort into translating from Polish or Russian or whatever? Did it even have a story, because from what little I played I couldn't ascertain one and had no idea what the hell was going on or what I was supposed to be doing? And how is dying almost the instant you get into a gun fight the slightest bit fun? Games aren't too realistic in most cases for good reason.

The idea of a free-roaming FPS is a good one, but I'm still waiting for one that doesn't suck. FarCry 2 was even worse than Stalker.
