And every single person using Origin is contributing to the downfall of gaming. Congrats on no self control guys.
If you have Origin installed, you can't complain about Sim City's always online DRM, or EAs destruction of Bioware's true vision for games, or their rampant gouging of DLC. Because you support them. I sentence all 1.3 million of you to gamer hell.
@ClaudiusCaesar @rogerpenna The Witcher 1/2 did just fine as PC exclusives with no DRM. Good enough for them to make a bigger/better Witcher 3 for all consoles now (and the PC one will still have its DRM removed 2 weeks after release again).
If your game doens't suck, piracy will not stop profits. People think that a pirated game = money lost. Most of the time a pirated game is someone who couldn't buy it anyway so they got it for free.
Also, with a lot of deceptive tactics and restricting content to preorders (aka, commiting your money before you can see a review) piracy is a more useful tool than ever to find out if a game is worth buying. Or simply buy it later, but use a pirated copy to circumvent cumbersome DRM.
I do this all the time, I have a Steam account worth 5 grand, but I still have pirated games to circumvent stupid DRM practices, or gougey DLC practices.
@manoogian @Sohereiam @cboye18 There is no definition of 'normal' when it comes to PCs. There is current, not current. Gaming or Business.
" Normal" PCs are not all 7 year old school/business pcs. Normal is not a high end gaming rig either. There is a huge range of what people have and the average falls somewhere in the middle.
Anyone who bought this game and is now getting screwed, you deserve it. STOP BUYING EA GAMES. If you absolutely must play it, pirate it. Period.
EA destroys everything that is good about gaming, they destroy quality developers (Bioware, Westwood, etc) so they can churn out crap. They put in terrible DRM so that people who pirate the game get a better experience than those who pay real money.
They require their spyware (Origin) on your computer to run their games.
If you still bought it, knowing all this? Give me your money next time. No, I won't give you anything for it. But that's still better than giving your money to Satan.
Blizzard hasn't been able to manage their own lore without massive plot holes in their game. What makes anyone here think they are qualified to work on movie scripts?
