@speedingdeath @espviper301 Its the sad state of America. This guy probably has some crazy neo-con Fox News watching parents that told him Obama is the reason he can't go to college and that only by killing grandma and keep the poor starving can he save America.
So he only does what he knows, spits a bunch of BS on the internet, because when we let him know how wrong he is, it doesn't matter.
God I wish we could give the death penalty to the ignorant.
@JediLegacy Some companies like to stay close to the same size. There have been many sucessful companies that will let go their lower performing 5-10% or so, and then hire replacements.
I know for a fact that Valve is hiring people right now (friend has an internship there). So I bet its more of the fact that those people were not performing to standards in Gabe's "Sink or Swim" environment. Valve has no structure, you go in and work on what you want, but you are expected to produce results. Those people likely didn't have any results. So now they were let go to make room for some people who can.
@67dick It was the exact opposite with me on the PS3. I own everything, so I really don't have a biased outlook here: I always had my PC because its top end graphics and my 'console' of choice as I always have it very high end. I bought an Xbox 360 for most everything on console that wasn't out on PC, and for the bigger gamer community on XBL (Not that they are better, I just know more people on XBL). The Wii was for party games....I didn't get the PS3 until I was like..."You now, this would make a good blu-ray player and media server to stream from my PC". The PS3 had the smallest online community, the least amount of games that made me want it. I only got it for home media reasons. Not gaming reasons. If anything, I don't think Sony is switching strategies, I think they are embracing what kept the PS3 in it last gen.
@Stealth_Knight_ @colt_a Hardware isn't sold for a profit. Nintendo makes no money off of it. Often times, after the retailer gets their cut, its a loss. Its software that makes money. Go look at Nintendo software sales the last decade and tell me they aren't getting decimated.
