From Software ( Demons Souls False king Allant , Dark Souls Four Kings , Dark Souls II The lost sinner). They kick your ass till you cry mommy and give up and come back overleveled/ overgeared to beat the following bosses. =P

I can only speak for The Lost Sinner, and that fight took patience if you had a shield, and you had to manage your stamina. However, it was not very hard, unless you ahd not light which made you lose track of her quickly. BS

I have not heard this "exaggerated" or slightly "cartoony" quality that you speak of in GZ. Well, the guards I could understand, but that is about it. And Hayter's voice would not fit with all that shit that will be going on

"Slightly" and have you head Kaz talk? Throughout the series all the voice work has had a certain vibrancy to it that Snake's voice now lacks. It doesn't need to be Hayter's voice, it just needs to fit Snake and with the rest of the characters.

Distinct? Yes, but there is nothing subtle about Snake's voice.

Point. What I mean to say is that regardless of the quality of the voice, the way a character speaks is a very important aspect of the character and Sutherland doesn't talk anything like Snake. Filtering through Hayter's gruffy-garblyness, Snake has a distinct cadence that Sutherland doesn't maintain. He just sounds like Jack Bauer. Again, not a bad voice, just not one that fits Snake.

Quite honestly, my first time hearing Kaz was in the e3 2013 trailer for TPP, and its red band version, and GZ. I recently played MGS1, so I heard his voice even though Liquid was posing as him He sounded real dark in the trailers, real serious. So in truth, maybe I am just bias, but the same could be said for a fan like you. Now, if we are speaking in terms of vibrancy, then I could see your point, seeing as how it does not seem like Sutherland is bring his on feel to Snakes voice, while also capturing that gruffness.

However, I do not really feel like you can say that his voice does not line up with everyone else's when we have not heard any new character speak. Really, regardless of who the new voice actor is, it is highly possible that none of them would capture that same feel, due to who you are use to. There is not other example of how Snake should talk, besides Hayter, and Richard Doyle, who voiced Big Boss in MGS4.

You will just have to get used to it. Another problem is the fact that Big Boss and Solid Snake had the same voice up until 4 and V.

While I don't blame Kojima for wanting to go with another voice actor, something just seems "off" about Sutherland's performance. It feels like a different character, lacking most of the subtleties, the tonality and emphasis, that made Snake's voice distinct and I don't even think the voice fits even his face very well. It's made even more jarring by every other character having an exaggerated or slightly cartoony quality about their voices (something Hayter's interpretation had in spades) that's completely absent from Sutherland's performance. Kojima said, in part, that he hired Sutherland because he's older and could depict an older Snake better but even by that metric he sounds several years and a few hundred cigarettes shy Snake from Peace Walker. It's solid acting, just not appropriate for Snake, imo. For that reason I vote Hayter. Regardless of quality at least it would have fit. I may change my mind after seeing the final game but I'm not optimistic.

already off to a bad start making me pay $29.99 for what should have been a free demo, but I'm hoping it's a great game and fluid game engine with no more pathetic load screen coffee breaks.

Technically, they did not make you pay that much. There is always the option to wait; just look at the price cut that happened. I hope those POWS and VIPS that transfer over to TPP are worth it

@ConanTheStoner: I like and dislike the combat sytem of the souls games

It's not without its flaws, but I had become accustomed to, or accepting of most action rpgs having lame shit combat. Souls changed that for me and I just felt TW2s combat came off extra weak as a result. Not Elder Scrolls bad by any means, just not quite up to snuff either.

Random question, but do you post on the Gamefaqs MGSV message boards?

Yeah, a lot of things made TW2's combat system out of place. And yes, I do post on those boards sometimes, and Gamefaqs in general. Why do you ask? And that site is evil

i hope so.. Metal Gear Solid 3 is gonna be hard to top for me

Totally agree, Snake eater is the best of the series

I have to be honest here, I still have not beaten MGS3, or played 2, but judging by its AI, detail and interaction, it does seem like it sets the standard that TPP has to surpasss

@ojmstr: Null really makes a good point. Anyway, you are not really giving me any details on what it does that is different. What is done in this MP that has not be done in other TPS multiplayer? How does truly innovate when compared to the tactical TPS i mentioned besides being. Calling the gameplay intuitive does not show me your point, it only lets me know that you like the gameplay and are able to grasp it
