and it's done by none other than our old boy Ocampo. in short, he praises the game as an action packed and varied experience that builds on all the strengths of the franchise. the healthy multiplayer content just further sweetens the deal.

personally, i'm not really interested in this game. but i'm still glad that Treyarch has managed to pull this off. your thoughts?

Jinroh_basic

Haven't actually played it personally, but I am hoping to pick it up as soon as possible, most things i'm hearing about it have been positive.  I'm a sucker for CoD and WW2 FPS as well, so I'd feel bad if I didn't get it eventually :P

ps, Your last poll option made me laugh.  Not very PC, but still pretty funny :P

[QUOTE="icey6ch9"]Also if your so annoyed why dont u quit the game? Im sure no one will miss youzomglolcats

lol yah ok. you quit i never said anything bout quiting **** i bet your a horde ****

LOL insulting him for being horde? That just proves that the average age of horde players really is older than alliance. Thanks for putting the debate to rest, as once again Alliance players prove to be whiny little kids.

Anyway, the downtime I'm sure is in preparation for WotLK. They want to make sure launch runs as smoothly as possible.

You're attacking his generalization with your own generalization.  Kind of ironic when you think about it.

I played Alliance to end game from closed beta until I quit about 3 months ago, and also played a few Horde characters quite a bit for a time, and in my personal experience, each side has it's share of idiots and whiners.  And most of them were full grown adults, not kids. Kids don't take it nearly as seriously as some grown ups do.

Try the norton 2009 trial..it's now the fastest you can find,,,,I can't believe that some people don't use anti virus software,,Email is a huge portal for viruses......:roll:ttomm1946

I've used Norton from '06 to '09, my last custom rig being bought with a fresh OS with Norton '07 on it, and in my personal experience, it's a resource hog and way too expensive when there are cheap (and completely free) alternatives available.  Sure, it's nice to have a flashy graphical menu and 100 kinds of scans and diag tools, but half of it is useless to a normal user.

The different in bootup without Norton was at least 30 seconds to 1 minute after I installed Avast, and Norton was insanely difficult to uninstall completely when I was trying to get rid of it.  Ad in that all the random crashes and ccAPP BS preventing a clean shutdown, yeah... I wouldn't recommend it.

Sorry for my ignorance everyone, but what exactly is the principle behind a RPG game. Fallout 3 looks really cool, but I have never played a RPG before. I usually play FPS, so I'm not sure if I would like this game. I read things about leveling up, gaining XP, etc. Can somebody please explain this stuff to me a little better? I have never played World of Warcraft, although it seems to be very popular. What is all the hooplah with this RPG stuff?GamerMike1979

RPG games have an emphasis on building your character(s) (avatar) over the course of the game using stats, experience or training.  Sometimes a combination of all of the above.  Your character evolves over the course of play, unlike something like an FPS where you are the same basic person from start to finish (most times).

The wiki page has some good info into exactly what makes an RPG an RPG as well, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game_(video_games).

Jade Empire is also similar, and it's mostly melee/swords etc instead of guns, if you're more into the lightsaber-esque type gameplay.

It's also made by Bioware, so it's basically KOTOR in an east asian setting :P I'd recommend it though if you liked KOTOR, it's the same style of gameplay, up to and including two party members who travel with you.

Kataklysm - Prevail & Dying Fetus - War of Attrition in equal parts.

Also bought Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted the other day, enjoying that too.

[QUOTE="unrealplaya55"]

I mean its just a game where you shoot hordes of zombies and you have the option to play with friends.

hedgehogenstein

That's exactly why I want it. How many games let you gun down hordes of enemies? Not many, and most don't even do it well. Starship Troopers, Serious Sam, Painkiller. They all suck. The last great kill-the-horde FPS was, interestingly, also the first. Doom (on nightmare)! It's fifteen years since a great game in that particular FPS-subgenre.

I love killing things, and most games focus on smaller numbers, maybe three or four enemies at a time at the max. And those games are great, since they have awesome AI or whatever other neat tricks they have, but there's nothing quite like wholesale slaughter. Killing is good. Killing en masse is awesome.

And to do it with my friends? MMmmmmmm!

Serious Sam was awesome, dude! Back in the day I couldn't get enough of it :P I see where you're coming from though, sometimes less is better. When it comes to zombies though? Hordes are definitely the way to go. :P Being able to play with friends is what is interesting me as well. From the comments on here and general feedback, it seems like it will be a very "niche" type game.. You'll ever love it or hate it, with no middle ground :)
