This was a really craptacular commercial with even more craptacular music. I sort of want one of these, but IDK. I am thinking maybe I will wait until the next wave of games are announced. It is hard to justify buying this console just to play 3-4 games.... Mario Bros., Ninja Gaiden, and ZombieU.... and maybe Aliens: Colonial Marines.
I guess it is a moot point, because all my attempts to pre-order one have been unsuccessful.
This game sure does have plenty of scumbags. I think it needs gibs and more gore for more of a visual punch. Those landmine deaths seemed pretty week. Otherwise this game looks very awesome.
@HIT3kNology Thanks for calling me a name dude. I guess you would be really mad if I said what I really thought, and didn't sugar coat it to be nice.
What I am getting at is EA always puts music in their games with very limited appeal. It is usually a little bit pop, a little bit rap, and a little bit emo or nu-metal. Not everyone like this kind of music. The first thing I usually do when playing a Madden or EA Criterion driving game, is go and turn off the songs I don't like in the soundtrack, if that option is even available. In the latest NFS: Hot Pursuit, you can't even turn off the songs you don't want to hear in the music options and are constantly forced to skip over the 10 other songs that you hate, just to get to the other 2 songs that are somewhat tolerable. I can't even imagine how bad this will be if the entire score is done by a band that you think is completely devoid of any musical talent at all.
This approach to soundtracks in EA games is the same as them having real world advertisement in their games. The record labels are paying EA to help them finance the game, and EA is adding the music the record companies want you to here as a form of advertising.
I hope you can turn the soundtrack off. I wish this article was titled, John Williams composed MOHW score. Stuff like this is also why the EA racing games and Madden are so painful to play. They should using mainstream stuff like this because not everyone enjoys it.
