You're not going to be able to run an 8600GT with a 300 watt PSU. Just get something cheap (since you have a 300 watt PSU and neglected to list other specs I will assume they're abyssmal) as likely your computer is not a keeper.

Cheap but decent PSU $65 - 30 mail in rebate = $35 eventually

Cheap but good brand 8600 GT $70

And, i think this would be a much better alternative if you think my computer is not a "keeper"

No that one might actually be worse than the one you currently have. If you don't want to spend alot just ge tthis one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371019 its only $35

What are you talking about? How can that be worse?Did your read what the item does?

It provides EXTRA power to a graphics card(on top of your current power supply)..

The thing is, will this work with a 8600gt graphics card?

I'm trying to find a video card(that is able to run tf2)that only needs a 300watt power supply..

The thing is, i don't want to mess with the power supply because i have no idea what to buy. They're all to condusing >_< (and i'm short on money).

I'm trying to get a 8600gt,but i dont know WHICH TO CHOOSE..What is the difference of these video cards?I see alot of brands, and they all look the same to me..

Your computer wont run some things if it even starts up with a PSU like that.

If you get a 500 watt or higher now you wont need another one till you upgrade to a higher wattage vid card.

cambop123

What do you mean it wont run?You mean with a video card?Beucase without, i can run things fine.

Your computer will crash

Here, get something like this if you're too poor to build a completely new PC (as anything with 300w PSU is hardly worth keeping):

Thermatake 500W $65 with a $30 mail in rebate, so $35

WDT-BlackKat

..It has some pretty bad reviews >_>..

Well, cheap as in 30-50.Im really not interested to run crysis,or anything above that(if there is one O_O)

Can i just gets some pros and cons for the things i've listed?

[QUOTE="wmds"]For gaming i wouldnt go any lower than a 9600gt but thats me. It depends on how much you have to spendqman101

Agreed. Get the 9600 GT.

...But then again there's his PSU. If it's not strong enough, then he might as well should go with an 8600 GT.
