@bankai_456 Lowers sunglasses... looks at camera - insert generalising comment implying only one type of person likes a particular device. Walk away looking nerd cool.
@nechiken The iPhone is one of the highest selling phones which can also double as a portable gaming device. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't newsworthy.
If all you care about is games just look at the articles about games. The fact you bothered to come and comment on an article you've just told everyone you're not interested in speaks volumes about your common sense.
Issues? If either platform has issues there would be a massive exodus to one. That isn't the case. These are simply paid exclusives. MS handed over a massive amount of money and incentives to Remedy, Respawn and Capcom to get these games as exclusives. Simple as that.
If Gamespot reporters wanted to impress me how about doing some real investigative work and finding out the exact figures MS paid for these launch exclusives?
Buying exclusives was more a sign of the failure of MS 1st party devs to make the launch deadline. You don't pay for exclusives from a position of strength. If you're the obvious leader people would "perhaps" develop for your console exclusively for reduced dev time vs profits from sales to a large audience.
That certainly isn't the case here. We all know that whatever Xbox One sells this coming gen - the PS4 is likely to be 50% more.
I could care less who wins the console war. I just want Alan Wake 2 and Sam Lake from Remedy implied it would happen with the money they make from Quantum Break. So I am hoping Remedy scored a big payday from MS so I get AW2 sooner.
The real question is why did Capcom decide to make DR3 exclusive for Xbox instead of multi platform like DR2? Answer: Microsoft was desperate to "buy" some exclusive titles from 3rd party developers after many of the 1st party devs didn't come to the launch party. Titanfall, Quantum Break and DR3 would have received a massive financial incentive from M$ to go exclusive. Enough to negate the much smaller overall audience for their games because of not going multi platform. Of that bunch I really hope Remedy did well out of their Quantum Break exclusive deal as I'm wanting Alan Wake 2.
@berserker66666 The problem is publisher's or developer's interpretations of the OFLC's R18+ classification criteria for games. The OFLC site says that under the R rating drug use (the depiction of) is permitted - with no justification or context required. But that the drug use may not be related to "incentives" or "rewards" within the gameplay. Illicit drug use must also not be detailed or realistic if it is interactive within the game.
I think where it may have gotten tricky was the use of drugs which gave certain performance boosts. That can be viewed by the OFLC as a reward for drug taking. As opposed to Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim or Dead Rising where the excess consumption of alcohol would cause detrimental performance to your character despite the health boost.
The R rating in Australia is new and it will take a little time for publishers to get their interpretation right. Teething problems is all this is.
