Nintendo claimed it was a problem with "Vast costs" because we all know Star Fox 64 3d must have cost them a fortune to develop with all that extra content thay included.

Jolt_counter119

The entire game was remade from scratch. All the developer had to work with was the outline of Star Fox 64. Every other detail was created from nothing, from every texture and polygon to the voice work. That takes time and money, regardless of how easy you might think it is.

With no additional stages or modes I couldn't care less how much time or money they spent, they sure as hell didn't spend enough of either.

Have you ever develop a multi-million dollar game? The people at Q-Games and Nintendo are good people, I'm sure they did the best with what they had to work with. And from playing it, I'll say they did pretty good.

I'm not hyped for Skyward Sword, either, but I'm getting it anyway. I've played all the Zeldas and it's kind of a tradition for me at this point. The funny thing is the best Zelda game of all time was on PS2.ActionRemix
I assume you're referring to Okami, which is a great game.

Nintendo just doesn't give a crap about making their games the best they can possibly be anymore. They wanted to give us a StarFox game without spending all of the time and effort on releasing a brand new one, so they ported SF64. That's probably going to be the only SF game on the 3DS.

On the DS, while StarFox Command was personally my favorite SF, you can't deny that the game really doesn't have the depth of gameplay that SF64 had. The levels weren't big and vast enough, there weren't enough dogfights. And the online wasn't that great either.

But when Nintendo released two StarFox games on the Gamecube, neither sold well. So they will probably use that as an excuse for not putting more effort into a new SF game.

So if you, like me, actually dream big when it comes to games and can easily imagine a StarFox game with dedicated online play and large, sprawling levels... You will have your hopes crushed by Nintendo because they will not deliver. They take the easy way out time and time again.

That isn't a bad thing that they would use an excuse like that for why they are letting star fox die. Everyone is to blame for the impending death of Star Fox Both Nintendo, and the fans.

[QUOTE="ms555"][QUOTE="darth-pyschosis"] It's pretty vague, and I'm pretty sure OOT 3D convinced me that 3D means something since I enjoyed it greatly. Not much to report on here. I wish there was, but I'd rather them focus on getting Pikmin 3 out the door and drop Zelda for 2012 after Skyward Sword, but thats just IMOMario1331

lol, why do people think that anything nintendo is like made by the same team of people? That the people making zelda are the same guys developing every other nintendo game. Zelda games are made by a specific group of developers, pikmin 3 (which mind u is a wii u game probably) will be made by a different team. The only thing thats probably the same about both games' teams is that both games will probably be supervised by Morimoto and Iwata But this zelda 3d is great news. We dont know anything about the game but we now know it exists

this is what people dont get and that goes to show you how talented nintendo first party as a whole is.....there scary good

Like I just said, I understand they have multiple teams, but they have borrowed team members from the Pikmin team for Zelda and Wii Fit. I'd love to see them focus on some IPs like Star Fox, Pikmin, F-Zero for a year or so. Also, there is a problem. Do you make a top down Zelda like Spirit Tracks, or A Link to the Past or make a full 3D adventure? Also, would Myiamoto and crew really give up the on controlling all of a 3D Zelda to another team, while focusing 100% on Zelda for the Wii U? Now that the 3DS can pull off Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword-esque adventures will they be able to manage two 3D games at once, or will the handheld one stay 2Dish?

Im really really surprised nobody mentioned this already.

Welli think most people would already guess nintendo is making a new 3DS game for every major nintendo character. But its nice to actually get confirmation from Nintendo themselves that a new zelda 3d is coming

If anyone read fully throught the newest issue of gameinformer, the magazine asked the zelda developers if they are working on an original zelda 3d game. They responded by saying, "Of course!.......I will give you a hint you probably wont understand. It will make 3D mean something"

I think this is great news for any 3DS user. What do you think it will most likely be, and does this unofficial announcement of a new zelda 3d give you more respect or hope for the handheld during this handheld war?

I think most likely the game will be another toon link game. The toon link series really does suit portable systems well

I know they aren't the same teams, but Nintendo has stated that they have taken people from the Pikmin 3 team to work on Wii Fit and Skyward Sword. And yes, Pikmin 3 was confirmed as a Wii U game this past e3. I just want more focus on the lesser developed Nintendo IPs. I don't really want too many new IPs from Nintendo (they could localise Tact of Magic, Xenoblade though) because they've got such a big library of other IPs. F-Zero, Star Fox, Pikmin, etc. Just IMO.

That would've require actual work.

I just recently met one of the Lead Designers at Q-Games, this individual didn't specifically work on any of the Star Fox games Q-Games has developed, but I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate you saying that. Nintendo puts devs on short leashes, and Nintendo isn't bad for not adding online, but they get the final say on what gets in when it comes to their IPs. The gentleman from Q-Games went as far as to tell me that when Q asked Nintendo if they wanted them to remove all the old glitches and issues with Star Fox 64 while remaking Star Fox 64 3D that Nintendo told them to leave those glitches and errors in, because those are some of the things that gamers remember about the game. All comical glitches must stay. Now, the video at the link has some pretty bad audio as I was talking with the Q-Games Designer in a very loud, crowded room, so unless you listen closely you probably may not be able to hear him say it but you may be able to as well. It was really nice to be able to thank someone actually responsible in some way for the great games that are Star Fox Command and Star Fox 64 3D in person.

Days ago, I entered LucasArts' jobs page and saw several first person shooter career opportunities. One of them clearly said "Level designer - first person shooter (Star Wars game)".

It's not clear if it is going to be a Jedi Knight, Republic Commando, Battlefront or something new, but a new Star Wars shooter is on early stages of development. My finger are crossed for Star Wars Battlefront 3!

BrunoFurstBrito
By the way, none of the job postings say (star wars game) I'm pretty sure you made that up, as they would never say that and reveal anything too soon. But you're right about their being numerous job postings for FPS games

[QUOTE="Black_Knight_00"]Would it be too much to ask for a new Jedi Knight game? It's been 8 years...Gladestone1

Id like to see a modern day one myself..Tired of the old republic stuff..Not sure why the company is dissing the old school movies..Every one seams to like old republic..

I would personally love a new one based on the New Jedi Order book series

At this point I'll take any SW FPS. I'd love a sequel, even in spiritual form, to republic commando. But the sad part is Lucasarts will dump it too when they are done with it. They seem to always hit it and quit it, as far as their SW IPs go (make one or two, maybe even a third, then drop it like a plague) Jedi Knight, KOTOR, Battlefront have all been left to rot in video game history. I hope one of them gets resurrected.
