[QUOTE="LordEC911"]

[QUOTE="jfelisario"]actual installation, a minute or less (more so in a tool-less casing), shutting down and start up varies on hardware.white45e

I would like to see you do it in a minute.

I have a feeling you have never replaced a GPU before.

if the gpu is from the same maker like nvidia or ati then removing drivers isnt needed as they all save to the same spot and just overright so basicly all you have to do is turn the computer off take it out and put in the new one and turn the power on, pop the install cd in and in about 30 more seconds your done unless ofcourse you have a crap computer which takes more then 5 - 10 seconds to boot up.

I don't think I've ever owned a PC that boots up in 5-10 seconds...

...maybe all my PC's are just junk...

No offense, but I'm pretty sure that it takes a lot longer than one minute to put a card in. You got to unplug the case (or, at least, you should), remove the old card and any cords dangling from that, place the new one in securely, stick any plugs into that, plug the PC back in, boot it up, put the driver disk in (might as well, then update to newest ones), and then you should be set. Seems like it takes more than 1 minute to do all of that.

Heck, breaking into the packaging of some of these GPU boxes takes a few minutes in itself...

Thanks for the replies. That card looks pretty good however its actually similar to what I already have in my rig

Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Extreme Gamer Professional

I think my card is probably higher end.tkemory

Why yes... that is a very high end card. I'd recommend trying to deal with tech support, I mean, for that card, it's actually worth it.

Perhaps there's a driver issue? Are you using Vista? Did you try other speakers?

I am looking for a new soundcard, my current card which is only 3 months or so old is pissing me off.

It has a wierd issue with crackling and popping intermittanly. I dont feel like dealing with tech support, I just want to buy a card that works with my setup. Anyone have any suggestions perhaps something that isnt Creative? I am willing to spend up to $200.

I have a 5.1 speaker setup. Rest of PC specs in signature.

tkemory

For about $50 ($80, minus $30 rebate), this is a very good sound card. I don't think it's necessary to spend much over $100 to get a sound card unless you're a complete audiophile.

the 7900gt cost 40 dollars more(australian) not sure what to do?qoakzmwisjxneud

Much, much better. I would go for it (granted, I've no idea what $40 in Australian dollars is in American $, but it's still a large difference in performance between the two).

Will my rig have any problems using this card any known Bottle necks that may be caused or is it all green lights?

Please, can you make your post more readable next time, it's really irritating trying to read everything, no commas..no nothing. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual-Core.

I am also a stickler for good grammar, but his post was perfectly readable. If it was more along the lines of "hllp plz my pc r teh sux", I'd be all with you. But in this case... not so much.

You might get a slight bottleneck from that processor, but everything looks like it'll work just fine with the upgrade.

thats true, i could get a smaller hard drive. the reason i kind of want a big one is because games have been taking up 6-10 gigs of space on average. i dont know ill have to see where i am financially i guess. any other opinions/suggestions out there?habitat

You could just get the e6300 and overclock it...
