 Icon layout? Seriously? I guess you haven't been keeping tabs with the trial. It goes far beyond that. Do yourself a favor and read up. Too muh evidence including INTERNAL SAMSUNG DOCUMENTS that clearly show Samsung has a huge boner for copying Apple. Icon arrangement is nothing.

Gamecenter comes pre-installed and most people are curios to see what it is. It's laughable what measures you guys take to make iOS look better. My father made a gamecenter account, never actually played a game go figure.

Gambler_3
Of COURSE gamecenter comes preinstalled. Would it make sense if Xbox made you install Xbox Live? Or if PS3 made you install PSN? The account creation process isn't automatic for Game Center. People are prompted to create an account when attempting to play an online game or a game that requires Game Center to keep score. Are you sure your "grandfather" wasn't playing a game? It's equally laughable how "you guys" try to downplay the growing success iOS continues to enjoy despite the fact the entire gaming industry recognizes & acknowledges it. It's really something when a well-lauded source such as Arse Technica and Business Wire chimes in with the same sentiment.

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"]The raw sales figures alone put the iOS platform itself far beyond any dedicated gaming. "Even with a small percentage of iOS users actively gaming, as measured by Game Center (dedicated gamers), it's still bigger than most any major console." "Asymco says that at its current growth rate, Game Center users could likely exceed the 150 million mark by September. They could break the 200 million mark by year's end. No other dedicated gaming platform has reached sales of 200 million units. Android gaming? Laughable. No dedicated online gaming network. Being able to seamlessly play online games or even WiFi and bluetooth games across different brands of devices: hardly.ChubbyGuy40

iOS is not a dedicated gaming device, so why only compare it to the dedicated gaming devices? What and where are these Game Center numbers showing iOS's active gamers? Amount of registered accounts equates to a number of platforms sold? Are they not aware you can make multiple accounts? They're purposefully ignoring the larger platforms to try and make iOS look better. No matter how you look at it, you cannot compare amount of accounts registered of a non-dedicated device to the sales of dedicated devices. Also it says right in the article's headline that it "suggests." It also says Android outsells iOS, so in raw numbers iOS loses to yet another platform.

Don't know why you're mentioning Android when I didn't bring it up. Mobile gaming is complete crap anyway so the lack of a centriaized network for gaming doesn't bother me in the least bit.

The GameCenter account statistics are in the arse technica article. GameCenter accounts does NOT equate to iOS devices sold. Users have a choice of activating their GameCenter account by registering with their iOS account information. This is how they are able to measure the number of dedicated gamers versus the number of plain iOS users. Once you activate your gamecenter account, your gamecenter ID is linked to your iOS account. Multiple accounts aren't possible. There are hundreds of thousands of iOS users that haven't created a GameCenter account. This is the measuring stick employed to compare iOS to other platforms. Dedicated gamers with active GameCenter accounts. I sure didnt think my gameboy, gamegear, DSLite an PSP were complete crap. In this regard, iOS completely trumps any of those past platforms I used to game with.

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"][QUOTE="red12355"] GameCenter account numbers. Not iOS account numbers. Just like not all 600 million

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"][QUOTE="red12355"]Over the PC? How can any reasonable person even claim that?ChubbyGuy40

Basic statistics. Read article.

Since when was specifically ignoring the PC platform and using account numbers for an optional app considered basic statistics? It's using account numbers, which is incredibly inaccurate. There are 600 million+ Facebook accounts, but that doesn't automatically mean PC is the largest platform. The 450 million + copies of Windows 7 sold prove that.

The raw sales figures alone put the iOS platform itself far beyond any dedicated gaming. "Even with a small percentage of iOS users actively gaming, as measured by Game Center (dedicated gamers), it's still bigger than most any major console." What about facebook? What about nokia feature phones which are used for gaming?

And really comon you cant compare mobile platforms with console/PC gaming due to the huge difference in pricing of software. They are very different form of entertainment and will happily co-exist together.

Handheld gaming on the other hand? Doomed!!

Gambler_3
iOS is a bigger gaming platform than Facebook, and especially Nokia. They didn't go by number of iOS users. They went with number of GameCenter accounts that were activated. It was a nice run for Sony and Nintendo in the handheld department.. But it looks like Apple's the boss now. .

Any thoughts? Lots of condemning evidence that really proves Samsung copied Apple. Even the judge is annoyed and acknowledges Samsungs underhanded tactics in court.

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"][QUOTE="Gambler_3"]No that wasnt my assumption that it "cant" but merely that it "wont" because devs wont support it a great deal.

"And I have said it before iDevices dont support the aspect ratio of TV's..." Thank God for forum quoting. I'll re-quote for more effect: "...iDevices don't support the aspect ratio of TV's..." This is where you have been corrected.

One or 2 games doesnt meant squat when 99% of games dont run at that resolution.

And btw can you run at OS at widescreen res like the homescreen and everything?

Dodge as you may. You were wrong in asserting that no iDevice supports the aspect ratio of a TV screen. The hardware doesn't just support the option, it does it quite well too. ;)

[QUOTE="Heirren"] My iPad charges while playing games.Gambler_3

Did apple patch it or what? Because all the reviews are saying ipad 3 doesnt charge while doing anything intensive.

Not irrelevant. Your assumption was that no iDevice can output to 1080p. Apparently, since a handful of upper-tier games support 1080p, this means the ipad is capable of fitting astonishingly well on a TV. It makes your assumption invalid.Kid-Atari
