Not only are Apple's design ethos in Desktop, Laptop and Mobile hardware the new standard across every manufacturer, but now their smaller technologies are starting to prove worthy of becoming industry standards as well.

The screens are ugly on the first two iPads.HeirrenDefinitely are ugly compared to the iPad 3 screen. I can't go back.
Android still leads the OS marketshare pretty comfortably.[QUOTE="istuffedsunny"]I'm assuming it's because they had bad experiences with their Android phones and switched it up. On top of that the Japanese app store has some awesome stuff you can't find on Android, and it's not clogged with useless spam apps. That's why I switched and I'll keep buying iphones as long as they're JB'ableGambler_3
I wouldn't say "comfortably" as Apple closed the gap quite sharply when the iPhone 4S released. Also keep in mind, that these are strictly smartphone OS marketshare numbers. So if you include the iPad and iPod... Well, Apple already has Google beat in OS marketshare actually.
I distinctly remember the number being over 200,000,000 iOS users. That's a lot of people to be gaming with.
Infinity Blade Dungeons, yet to be released. Can't wait for it myself[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"][QUOTE="musicalmac"]I can't remember the name but a game was announced and displayed by the same people who made Infinity Blade, I think. eagle63
hmmm sounds very interesting i must investigate...though i wonder how the controls would work in such a game on this platform.i have the feeling i would be staring at my fingers most of the time because i have an ipod.
According to those who have played it, it plays quite beautifully on a touchscreen. Very intuitive and some have even argued that it's even easier.I think a better display is more important than better graphics, and iOS gaming really shouldn't be taken too seriously. It's something you do to kill time. istuffedsunnyThe irony here is that the game industry takes the 3DS and Vita less seriously than iOS. ;)
The article puts an emphasis on the preference being subjective. Some people prefer higher resolution at the expense of depth-of-field effects, while others prefer more effects at the expense of a lower resolution. Yet for the hundreds of quality titles that aren't trying to be top-tier console-games, the iPad 3's insane screen still keeps it as a no-brainer.
A lot of those screenshots shown displayed quite a negligible difference, too. I've run Infinity Blade 2 side-by-side an iPad 2 and 3 and I can safely say that it looks much nicer on the newer iPad.
Really doesn't matter anyhow. 9 months from now the iPad 4 will pretty much have all bases covered. ;)
It's nice to see you finally agree that the iPad is the best gaming tablet out in the market. Cheers

Looks freakin AWESOME. C'mon Blizzard, where's Starcraft 2 iOS?!
Apple doesn't pay developers to keep their games iOS-exclusive. That notion is absurd. iOS doesn't require any jailbreak to obtain the best apps either. Where are you getting this info?Android is a freeer (?) platform, and Apple pays developers to keep their games iOS-exclusive, which is absurd.
iOS requires a jailbreak to allow the best apps and customization.

To the point: will I be able to watch the E3 presentations on my iPad? HeirreniSwifter, Skyfire, or Photon. Three of the best flash-enabled web browsers.
If you're speaking in terms of "game-ability," then the iPhone is a NO-BRAINER. Android has no popular exclusives, whilst iOS literally has them in the hundreds. On top of this, since iOS is inherently a uniform platform, GameCenter (iOS's version of XBox Live and PSN) allows you to play multiplayer games over the internet via WiFi or 3G with not just other iPhone owners, but iPod and iPad owners as well. The cross compatibility in iOS is pretty seamless.
Android's online multiplayer options are extremely limited due to inconsistencies across all the various devices running very different versions of OS's, skins, etc. Plus they do not have an online gaming network like XBL PSN and GameCenter. They do have their share of games, but no-where near the amount of iOS's.
