Playing it on an HDTV with HDMI output is amazing. Feels like a console game.

all the game needs to do now is support third party controller accessories... and we're pretty much being slowly weaned off of current gen consoles.

Currently enjoying it. Game is quite gorgeous on my 4S, wish I could see what it looks like on an iPad 3

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="semianonymous"] Indeed the numbers are dismal. The abandonment of blackberry devices in Enterprise is actually what led tot he rise of iOS.

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="semianonymous"]

I'm curious what blackberry activation numbers look like

semianonymous

Something tells me it would be pretty dismal...

Well, realistically, yeah. It just seems odd that a chart about business phones skips out on Blackberry, given their history

Blackberry became irrelevant at an alarmingly rapid pace. Not just with business, but government use has proved to put blackberry reliance to a halt.

What do you intend on doing with it?

If you're doing the basics, I hugely recommend the Kindle Fire. It's the best selling Android tablet at the moment.

It's nice to finally have numbers to back up what I've suspecting for several years now.

iOS was usually given unsubstantiated claims that it was not suitable for business. Well, it's good to know that's a whole lot of balogna.

Good is a mobile device management platform, so I assume here that they are counting 'activations', as devices enrolled into their enterprise MDM solution.

Quoted from an IT technician, the reason why this is:

"As the person who has to support the users, its a hell of a lot easier for me to tell them where something is on their phone if everyone has the same OS and UI... not to mention that I don't have to worry about the device we choose to use not having OS updates or hotfix support six months down the road. Android phones have too short of a shelf life for enterprise situations.

Its not that Apple's the 'I.T' thing, its the only thing. Cell phones lock us in to 2 year contracts just like everyone else, so we need to make sure that we're getting something that will be supported for the full 2 years. So far, Apple's the only one that is doing that.

Apple's still releasing updates compatible with the 3G, 3GS and 4, can you say that for any of the android phones that came out in those years without having to root the phone? Android doesn't get the long term support it needs because the cell phone manufacturers still treat them like feature phones: Hype, release, Hype, drop and move on to the next one. An android phone's real lifespan is what maybe six months?

The G1 was a perfect example of support issues with android. It wasn't even 2 years before the newest version of Android couldn't even stored on the phone let alone installed.

The other thing to look at is the accessory market, can you find any accessories at Wal*Mart, Office Max, Staples, the Verizon Store, etc for an origina Droid?l Droid X? How about an Incredible? It'd be a miracle if you did. Yet you can still find plenty of cases, power chords etc for iPhone 4, iPhone 3gs and iPhone 3, many of them even still work with the original iPhone. On top of this, the thousands of business and productivity apps completely out-do anything ever seen on Android, and do it in a much more stable and fluid environment."

Businesses need to operate on longer term lifespans than the cell phone manufactures are willing to operate on. That's why Android isn't working for Enterprise."

Back on topic, it's a bit disheartening to see the likes of Nintendo and Sony getting cannabilized by iOS.

At the same time it's impressive that Apple has come out of nowhere and is somewhat killing Nintendo and Sony, it's sad for a gamer like myself who started on Atari to see these companies struggling with dire losses.

No it isn't getting the likes of shadowgun for a few bucks is awesome, plus it controls much much better than psp could ever dream of with it's cripple single stick controls. Why do you want to play $50 for a portable game when you can have 90% of the experience for $5? Smartphones are very close to being able to put out graphics as good as current home consoles. The real games are in the living room which make phones an awesome on the go device since you will always have it with you.

It's sad in the the aspect that I'm witnessing the companies that have gotten me so involved with gaming in the first place spiraling into a drain of muddy irrelevance. Call me sentimenal, but I'll forever have fond memories of Nintendo. If its anything I hope for, it's that they wisen up and release some major IP's on iOS. They would make an insane amount of revenue doing that instead of wasting resources and dumping money into new consoles and handhelds just to accommodate a few of their first party titles. Sure, it would be going the route of SEGA and they would be swimming against their very own principles, but COME ON! A mario, zelda, or metroid titles accessible by over 130 million iOS owners that would gladly shell out $5, $7, or even $10 for a genuine nintendo title on their device? No brainer.

[QUOTE="mystic_knight"]Oi! The competition is far from mediocre... Now you just trollin' I can understand your comment being that they are in front of the competition in revenue and sales but to call the competition mediocre is just a silly comment.

I see you, I meant to reference the likes of Motorola, RIMM, Nokia, Sony etc... I do tip my hat off to Samsung for being able to rise above mediocrity, and their efforts are reflected by their position above the companies mentioned prior.

I think you should take notice of this

hero-galaxy-s3-970x275.jpg

It is the first think you see one the website, sorry apple vodafone is pushing the s3 just as much as the 4s was pushed on launch and now iphone is on the back burner, and when you go to phones you see the galaxy s2, one s sensation xl and lumbia 900 and no iphone. Iphone is slowling lossing it's carrier dominance, it's only a matter of time before samsung have the same brand power as apple. htc is also becoming very strong with the one series and nokia with the lumia should not be forgotten about they are being pushed very hard and could become huge.

imprezawrx500
The only way Samsung could ever have the same brand power as Apple would be to make as much profit, be as valuable, and be able to create a sub-culture of its own. Last time I checked, Samsung isn't anywhere close to achieving any of the three. Makes great for fantastical thinking though. I'm not sure people understand how much further Apple is than than entire competition combined. When a company has enough money to purchase its own nation, it makes me wonder how people come to the conclusion that it will fall behind the rest of the mediocre competition.
