It was still downgraded from what he'd wanted, yeah of course the game got better looking over the 2 years, but he probably invisioned a machine that could do something massively different to the 360 in terms of providing a better experience, when really it's the same, or slightly better, if certain people are to be believed.bobbetybob

It was never downgraded. Downgraded means something amazing was promised and we got something less than that. To the gamers, the game just kept getting better and better. If kojima never publicly stated that the game wont be as good as He HIMSELF wanted it to be, there would be ZERO talk of downgrade.

I hate to be the catalyst of further MGS4 discussion, seeing as how the game came out so long ago. However, justsice needs to be served.

I've seen an entire THREAD of people saying that Kojima 'confirmed' that MGS4 was downgraded due to the fact that he was expecting the PS3 to be a miracle machine. This is true, but this realization took place early in development. When they were planning MGS4 he said something like "our plan was to take MGS 10 steps further, but in reality we were only able to take it 1 step further."

This doesn't mean it was downgraded; you couldn't be more confused. It simply means Kojima had a dream that couldn't be met, but still provided us with a stellar game.

Everything I just said is on an article in IGN. I can't find the article, but I found the video that was tagged with the article. IGN was blown away by how much they UPGRADED the game in 2 years. The following video is a compoarison of the 2006 trailer and the final build trailer. Take note of how in the 2006 version, detail was washed out by a green tinted lighting. In the final build, you can see clear detail in snake's wrinkles, clothing patterns, and overall polish.

Downgraded my buttox.

P.S. I'm not a fanboy, I haven't even played MGS4, so please, no spoilers.

EDIT: This vid is really old, I know, but clearly a lot of people haven't seen it.
EDIT2: Typo...

Youtube: "Loose Change"

don't turn this into a flame war, but you have to admit these guys have done their research and it's all quite peculiar.

I live in Canada and was in Grade 6 (10 or 11 years old) when it happened so I don't remember too much about the incident or the level of panic or concern. It must have been surreal...one of those, "is this really happening" kind of things.

I've played 1, 2, and 3. Not only is mgs3 my favourite mgs (so far), but it's my favourite game. I'm not the kind of guy that cries. I dont cry at the end of movies, TV shows, or games. But MGS3 got me pretty close. What a spectacular game. Legendary.

Uncharted is a really good game...People say it was short but I think the pacing was really good. It's the only game so far this gen I've played more than once through from begining to end. The levels are brilliantly designed and very contextualized. Each new area is never generic, it fits into a greater picture, a fictional island though out carefully by the devs and brought to life via beautiful graphics. Gameplay is faced paced and fun.

That's my opinon on it anyway.

multiplayer fun depends on who you're playing with. Any game can be mad fun if you play with the right people. Brawl is up there though; competitve, crazy, fun.

I dont get games every month so I'm not concerned with having an amazing new game coming out every 30 days. However, I will be picking up Star Wars TFU this September. It's on 360 too but so what? I dont get the friction fanboys feel when 360 owners are playing the same game as PS3 owners, and vice versa.

I don't know why people are hyping this game either. It just doesn't look good to me.

Then again, I dont like first person games in general. I dont like FPS games I dont like FPRPGS like oblivion, so I guess thats why I dont like this either.
