So if I'm done the story mode of a game, and feel like messing around in the single player, I sometimes make up my own stories...in my head.

For example, in spiderman2, I would often swing around NYC and 'pretend' things were happening. I would fight NPCs, skydive, and do other things, but I would always add my own personal context to what I did. I would maybe mimic the story from a spiderman episode I had watched earlier or something, I don't know. Maybe it's not spiderman at all.

It's kind of an evolution of when you were 7 and you would grab your toys and make them fight each other, or something.

GTA is another good example. After the stories in single player are tapped out, I would kind of make my own mobster story as I freeroamed around the city. Holding hostages, fighting off coppers, doing stunts, and I would be formulating a kind of story as I go. I would completely rearrange the character's personality as I go, and again, pretend everything I was doing had a story-related context, a story which I had conjured in my mind.

You may call it stupid, but I call it imagination, and I think it's fun.

Anyone else do this?

Other games that come to mind include Fable, the Sands of Time, KotOR.

On a final note, I'm not some 30 year old shmut living in my mom's basement with no job eating pizza and gaming all day. I'm a high school kid with maybe a bit too much free time.

I was gonna download v2.40 last night at like 2am, but I thought that it was getting late and if my dad got up for a smoke he'd kick my butt. So I get back from watching Hancock (really good movie btw, loved it) and I was really excited to install the new firmware, when I found out 2.36 was the latest one. So naturally, I started freakin out over my ingame xmb, so I ran my butt here and saw the official news and what not about early adaptors bricking their PS3s, and realized I got really lucky.

Is there any word on how people who had their PS3s bricked will be helped? Or when 2.40 will be re-released?

ehehe, 360 fanboys are gonna have a field day.

Lol stay strong fellow cows. The night is darkest just before the dawn. I promise you, the dawn is coming!

...

Okay I totally ripped that off of The Dark Knight, but it applies here quite nicely.

Yeah I like movies.

you did the right thing by turning it off right away. my fans started going nuts when i moved my PS3 from the top of my TV to the carpet floor. the carpet was blocking the hot air from escaping through the sides so the fans started blowing out air very violently. What I'm saying is, move your PS3 to a more open area where air can flow freely. Or maybe move it to a cooler area.

I want to get sigma and motorstorm DLC, i wanna try downloadable games and I want to subscribe for Qore, but I have no plastic if you get what I mean.

How else can I buy things off the PS store?

Will Visa Prepaid cards work? Somehow? That's the only thing I can think of.

Btw im 16 years old, if that matters at all...

You don't like RPGs? In anycase, I don't care for hand helds. The PSP was a pretty big waste of my money. I don't care for First Person Shooters, with some exceptions. That's about it. I generally like all genres and can enjoy any game.

TC, you mention that GTA IV didn't move consoles because the market for "next gen" consoles is exhausted. It is tapped out, at this price point. The 360 hasn't seen a price cut since release and hte PS3 is still very expensive. At the 450-500 dollar price mark the market is completely saturated with people who are willing to pay that much for a gaming machine.

San Andreas sold 21 million over the PS2's very long lifespan. Once the PS2 hit the 249 dollar mark, San Andreas probably saw a surge in sales. And probably again at the 199 dollar mark.

You're post is pretty informative, but misleading.
