I tried the multiplier at 15x before and it dropped me back down to 3.0GHZ

I am not using the stock cooler, I have the CoolerMaster v8 heatsink/fan installed on it, it runs alot cooler then stock,

I have an idle temp of 23c and a full load temp with prime95 for 8 hours at 38c with everything set default in bios

with it overclocked using the cpu multiplier at 17.5x and the cpu volt at 1.42 I have it at 3.6GHz with the idle temp at 28c and the full load temp with prime95 at 46c, just thought that since my temps where stillgood I might be able to get a little more out of the cpu, thanks

I am just learning how to overclock my rig and would like anyones input on how to do it properly I have read many guides online and they all say to change different things in bios to different settings but most of them are so confusing I do not understand them, I have got it overclocked some using the cpu multiplier and cpu voltage and it seems stable but I would like to get more out of it if I could, any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you

My specs are Amd Phenom II 940 with Asus M4A79 Deluxe mb with a coolermaster v8 if you would like any other information on my rig please just let me know, thank you

I tried to go a little higher and it wont boot past the blue dump screen, I am not sure what settings to change since I am using an online guide and they only tell you to change the core clock muliplier and the voltage..

I never said it did not make sense I simply pointed out the difference in telling someone what a quad core processor is vs 4 separate processors on a motherboard. But then again in your thinking it is just semantics. IMO a walmart security officer probably know as much or more then geek squad does. As I stated previously your not worth the time it takes to debat "semantics" with you when you obviously think your always right
