I read many reviews and benchmarks on the V8 before I purchased it for my new build and it cooled better then the Thermalright True on some tests and beat the cheaper ones in every test, I can play Crysis and GTA 4 and never go above 40c on my cpu with all cores almost maxed out,

I should fit, my case is 8 inch wide and it fits in mine. you might have some trouble with the side panel fan hitting it, it is about 7.5 inches from the back of the case to the top of the CM V8

You could also check out your local goodwill or some place like that, many people donate old computers and you could learn how to take one apart and put it back together without the fear of messing up your own computer, possibly even ask at some computer repair shops and see if they have any old computers laying around they no longer have any use for..

I know you already bought the Dark Knight, but incase anyone else who reads this thread also is looking at the CM V8 it comes with the brackets for the i7, before I bought my V8 I searched extensivly between the TRUE and the V8 and almost every benchmark put them within a degree of each other so it basicly came down to personal taste..

I have the CM V8 and it is huge, the pictures of it do not really show how large it is, make sure you have enough clearance with everything on a mid tower case they are normally about 8" wide and the CM V8 is only about 1/2 inch from touching the side panel but my cpu temp under full load never goes about about 29c

Sorry I didnt see on newegg where it offered the free psu with the case so I assumed that you where purchasing 2 of them. my mistake

One quick question, you have 2 psu listed, rosewill and a corsair, if you do have that rosewill watch out for it, I bought one before I went with corsair and the minute I turned it on it smoked.. With the Western digital drives, I do not have that particular one, I have a 1tb and a 320gb and vista recognizes them both

As long as you take your time and read the directions carefully you shouldnt have any trouble at all and it will be alot cheaper to build your own computer, for the price they are quoting you, you can upgrade many things and still stay within the budget. I just finished my 3rd build and if I price it out at a computer shop or online for someone else to build it for me it came in around $2,300 and I spent about $1,200 on everything to build it myself and used all high quality parts....

I do not know much about the intel motherboards so I cannot comment on that aspect of your build, but I would get a case that has more then one fan as the exhaust only, I would look for a case that at least has one intake in the front and one exhaust fan in the rear of the case, plus you can get a case without a power supply since your not using the standard one anyways.. The hard drive, DVD burner and Memory all look good except maybe use 2x2 gig on your memory, incase you ever improve your OS it will utilize it

Looks good except the suggestion to go with 6gb of ram instead of your 3gb, if you go with more then 3gb you will have to go with vista 64bit since 32 bit does not recognize over 4gb counting your gpu ram

as long as the router is compatible with both N and G it will work, Most N routers are compatible with N, G and B so you should be fine just check what frequencies it covers to be sure
