This one goes out to the friends I never had...

That was a joke for those of you who are familiar with either Streetlight Manifesto, Catch-22, or know of the incredible "Keasbey Nights" album from the 90's (2006 from Streetlight Manifesto). For the record, that's the name of the song.

My point is that the other night (January 24th, 2009) I went to Worcester, Massachusetts to the most incredible concert I've ever been to. The show was Tip the Van (I had never heard of them but they were pretty good and I got their CD), Streetlight Manifesto, and Reel Big Fish. I don't even know where to start! IT WAS AWESOME!

Tip the Van was fantastic. They got the crowd ready and their songs were well chosen. Their trombone player was fantastic (and very attractive :D) and I learned a lot from watching her play. She nailed high notes left and right and her solos were fantastic. The star of Tip the Van this night was the drummer. My God, he was fabulous. He beat the crap out of his traps and was on fire! It was insane. Check out their album "Something Wicked". It's pretty good.

Next up was Streetlight Manifesto, my personal favorite ska/punk band. Their frontman/vocalist/guitar player is Thomas Kalnoky, the mastermind behind Catch-22, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution (BOTAR), and Gimp. They were absolutely amazing. Their horn section was baritone and tenor saxes, trumpet, and trombone. I'm personally a trombone player and I really like Streetlight's trombone player's style and skill. He played notes so high that they were nearly as high as their trumpet player's screaming trumpet. I was in shock at the band. Kalnoky couldn't stand still when he wasn't singing and would dance around the stage and groove to his music. I highly recommend Streetlight Manifesto as a band to keep in mind and to follow; they're not so cheesy and more punky than ska.

Reel Big Fish closed the show with their usual antics (if you've ever seen them you know what they do). They played fantastically and I wish I had more time to talk about them...my internet is acting up and my keyboard's being uncooperative. Suffice to say that it was amazing and they insisted on reminding the crowd that they were in fact Reel Big Fish ("In case you forgot...which would be embarassing...for both of us..."-Aaron Barrett). They played several of their standards as well as new material from both Monkeys For Nothing and the Chimps for Free and off of their new cover album Fame, Fortune, and Fornication.

Check out these bands online...they come highly recommended.

*Edit*

I found photos and there's bootleg footage of the concert. I'll link to the photos but you'll have to search for either "Reel Big Fish Worcester" or the same with "Streetlight Manifesto". Photos are here: www.flickr.com/photos/futruebreed/collections/72157612933631639/

Let me know if I screwed it up.

Pleeeeeease? Can I just take it over the summer? I guess not.

I was pissed when I was told that I had to take my CS410--Introduction to Scientific Programming--course here at school; I was even more pissed when they said I had to do it this semester...AFTER I SIGNED UP FOR CLASSES. This sucks. I tried to sign up for summer school but they don't offer it. Doesn't help that most of the people who've taken it tell me it's pretty much the worst thing ever--that it's the equivalent of giving birth. This is going to be Hell so I don't know how much I'll be able to make it online. Wish me luck.

NoT SO BORED ANYMORE!

Thanks, everyone! My eternal bordom was quelled by your hasty responses (giving me something to do) and a buddy calling me up to play Zombie Nazi's on CoD:WaW. Made it to level 14 then got killed by the last zombie that was on fire. Thanks everyone!

BRING IN THE NUKES!

Boredom. Boardom. Bordumb.

I. Am. So. Bored.

This is rediculous. I've never been so bored. There's nothing I want to do right now. This is becoming a recurring problem on my winter break. It's almost...too...long (BLASPHEMY, I know!). Check out the L4D screenshot's I've uploaded and make comments on things that I've posted so I don't go insane. They don't even have to make sense. I just need something interesting to happen. Oh, Monk's on tonight. And Psych. So I won't be online Aaron, sorry. I go back Sunday, classes start Tuesday.

Probably the greatest piece of literature EVER.

Read the whole thing. I promise you'll not regret it. Scout's honor. (This is not my work and is for Unreal Tournament 2004). [It's by Nuruljihad Nasruddin (Irenic Apollyon)--I have no idea what or who that is]

Ultimate Mode! YEAH!

WOOO HOOO! After years and 2 deleted characters, I've reached Ultimate Mode in PSO (Phantasy Star Online to the PSO firsttimer)! My level 82 HUcast finally found the second monolith that I missed in V.Hard Caves and obliterated Dark Falz and the V.Hard Ruins. Also, I found the final part and now have the two-piece set of the Delsaber's Buster and Delsaber's Shield so my ATP is over 1,400. It's awesome. And I glow with this black aura with the Delsaber equipment's special ability. IT'S AWESOME.

New (to you) AMV! Plus impressions of last night's new Monk and Psych!

My first AMV, titled "Albert Wesker-What a Wicked Gang are we Below", is now on GameSpot. I've actually had to pirate my own video since I managed to delete the original video. Music by Streetlight Manifesto. The inspiration for this one was my completion of Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for the second time. I watched the ending scenes where Chris and Wesker have a good, long, 5-ish minute scene together (I've described it as REgasmic) and just watching how awesome it was. Wesker is pretty much my favorite video game character of all time. He could take on Gordon Freeman (Wesker is completely and totally immortal) and Master Chief (Wesker is completely and totally immortal) at the SAME TIME. In short, I'm a Albert Wesker fanboy, but I'm over 18 so technically, and according to United States law, I am an Albert Wesker fanMAN. I hope you enjoy it!

Also, last night (Friday night) at 9 and 10 pm marked the start of the second half of the second to last ever season of Monk and the second half of the (fourth?) season of Psych. Monk's episode guest-starred Steve Zahn, whom you may have seen in "Saving Silverman" or more recently in "Sahara". I happened to like those movies and I like Zahn's work for the most part. He played Monk's half-brother (or is he?) Jack Monk Jr. who is Jack Monk Sr. (played by Dan Hedaya)'s youngest son. **NOTE: That was confusing to me, ask for clarification if you really care or want to know**. Jack Jr. escapes from prison for some minor-ish crime and finds Monk to help him. In his escape, a woman is apparently killed and Jack Jr. believes he was framed. I don't want to give away any more since it had a good deal of twists in it.
I thought that the episode was pretty good, Zahn brought a lot to the episode, which I've noticed are getting a little more stale as the show winds down. His character was funny and his lines were good. I can't really say much more other than the fact that Monk, Jack Jr., and Natalie were the only characters with more than 5 minutes of screen time in the episode (more or less). Oh, and there was a bit more character development for Monk. 8/10

Psych was good. Can't really say much since I've liked the show from the first 80's movie reference. Psych-out was funny. Good plot, good cast, funny show. 8/10

I look forward to what's next for Monk and Psych. Can't wait for the badass Burn Notice premier. Lost should be good too.

New Resident Evil AMV!

Check out the new RE AMV I made. It's on the bottom of this page titled "Resident Evil Open Your Eyes". Music by Goldfinger. Enjoy and let me know what you think or how I can improve.

Hmmm...

I just finished The Dark Knight again...ahhh...soooo goooood.

That's all. Good knight.
