If we were all only capable of contemplating and enjoying mainstream cheesy cookie-cutter work, we would all still be living in caves. It is with people daring and creative enough to push (a bit) the boundaries and break free of the tired familiar and predictable formulas that we discover. It is because of the mass' deteriorating "sophistication" that we have Medal of Honor 23 and Transformers movie #12, that Deadpool made close to $800M in the box office while a movie like "Hell or High Water" which is infinitely better only made $31M (according to Wikipedia). If being able to realize a movie like Deadpool is mediocre at best (even for a cheesy comedy) is being pretentious, then I proudly admit I am.
You'll be accused for being "elitist". Apparently, having taste sophisticated enough to discern mainsteam cheesy or juvenile material from artistically compelling work is being an elite.
Lame and cheesiness across the board. Lame name: oh, "clever" word play with "Neo". Blondie white dude in samurai/japanese attire demonstrating stance and animation that look so weird and unnatural. Team Ninja lost their way a long time ago...
