Production values look really high quality. On the PS5, I'm guessing this looks absolutely incredible.

@esqueejy: You sound like a first year law student.

There's a litany of false advertising to start with. Blatant misuse of software, probably running on Colossus super computer hardware, or at the very least, pre-rendered and heavily edited and nothing, I repeat NOTHING, that shows how the software would run on agreed software, that the bulk of the game was intended for. Withholding vital and actual gameplay from all advertising, not only to the general public but also professional review sites, so they themselves, could make a fair and honest assessment on behalf of the public, ultimately, leading to the consumer making an informed choice on what they're actually purchasing.

I guarantee there will be some sort of settlement made to the investors.

@Torvar72: Except that there is absolutely no guarantee the the studio will fix everything. And what kind of time frames are you thinking about?

Sure, they will fix some stuff but seriously, how many people will hang around for a PS4/XBOX1 fix? 1 year...2 years?

Most people would have probably moved over to the new consoles by then or just lost interest in the game altogether. How much time and effort do you think they will spend on last gen fixes to actually bring it up to the standards you're expecting?

The amount of bugs currently being highlighted and all the millions of other fixes that are probably required after the cascade effect could fill up a studios development calendar for the next couple of years easily but what about other projects they are considering right now? How will they fit that into a studios roadmap?

Do I think Cyberpunk will end up being an awesome experience on base hardware after some bug fixes?

No, I don't.

Hard to get excited about this because I've never been a huge fan of Ubisoft games and they have literally milked the last breath from the Assassins Creed franchise, so I guess that's something.

Anno 1800 was surprisingly good though but another Star Wars game? I'll reserve judgement but I won't hold my breath.

I'll be interested when something actually appears in a couple of years time.

What pisses me off is the management knew exactly what state the game was in and as already mentioned, the company just released at the maximum possible take-up by consumers. Game was eagerly anticipated, so the fans were literally chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game come hell or high water.

Secondly, they deliberately maintained a review embargo on ALL platforms and only allowed pre-agreed video and screenshot content to maximise the sales just before christmas. Red flags should have been popping up all over the place based on that alone.

Make no mistake, this was all predetermined and it infuriates me to see the head of the company apologise as if he knew nothing about any of this. He absolutely knew what was happening. He knew the product wasn't fit for purpose on the base hardware and he definitely orchestrated how the game was perceived before launch. That's all on him.

What I can say for certainty is that CDPR has basically thrown it's reputation down the pan and it will take a small miracle to recover from this and that's without seeing what the final fallout from all of this has on the company, the employees & the shareholders.

I'm not convinced CDPR will ever actually recover from this.

AAA game developers take note.
