Damn right. Iran having nukes is a very bad thing. Although, to be fair, any country having nukes is a bad thing so until america and britain etc get rid of theirs it quite hard to take the moral high ground on this subject. And as far as i know its not certain if they do have nukes any way

"God" is only supernatural if you believe in him. For me, there is nothing supernatural, just things that are currently inexplicable. Just because something can't be explained is no reason to give it supernatural attributes. That is illogicalSilver_Dragon17

God is not called supernatural because He can't be explained. . .Supernatural.

At one point lightning couldnt be explained. Is it supernatural?

Black holes are still largely unknown. Are they supernatural?

Just because something can't be explained doesnt mean it is supernatural. Attributing inexplicable things to some higher being is fuzzy logic.

a) Mmhm... :|

b) So what you're saying is that it's more natural to belive in something that cannot be proven, has never shown itself and does nothing at all instead of science? The bible is just a book like any other, although it's written by many people from widely different times, it's just a collection of stories shaped from superstition and fantasy and a will to control people, nice to see it worked

c) Why do you believe in god then?

Silver_Dragon17

A):|

B) Can you exlain God? nope. Atheism was probably formed by people who didn't like the fact that there is SOMETHING that simply CANNOT be fully explained, so they hid themselves from it. And the Bible has been proven to be historically accurate many times.:|

C) Because I do.;)

The bible has never been proven to be anything other than sketchy at best. It is not a reliable historical document.

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="erc500"]Just to clear this up one more time, atheism is not a belief in anything. Belief does not come in to it at all. Atheism is the lack of belief in gods or godSilver_Dragon17

Say what you want, it is a belief. You cannot prove that God does not exist and you cannot prove that God does exist. So saying you don't believe in God is just as much a belief as saying you believe in God.

It is obviously not a religion but it is a belief.

No. What i'm saying is for atheists there is no thought about whether or not god exists because as far as current evidence shows there is no god.It is not up to us to prove god does not exist. It is up to the proponents of a theory, in this case the existence of god, to prove it.

Atheists do not need to believe there is no god when there is no evidence for his existence. It is the default state of sceptism all of us should be in

This logic only applies to the natural. God, being supernatural, is by definition unprovable. To not believe in God just because there is no evidence is illogical.

People can believe whatever they want. Its none of your business what they believe in... or don't believe in.

And atheism is just as logical as Christianity or any other monotheistic (or related) religion. It is the belief in something (the belief that God does not exist) without having actual tangible evidence to support it.

What do you mean "no"? Are you just dismissing the fact that we can tell the climate of regions from many thousands even millions of years ago using the methods described in the linked page?
