So blame DLC or blame the suckers that buy it?

What I want to know is how many people are buying the LBP skins. They keep coming out with them so people have to be buying them.

Maybe if DLC didnt exist, people wouldnt have to worry about developers crippling a game for future DLC. What do you guys think?

You actually think it's going to be fully free? Valve will almost 100% definitely make sure that the mod is unplayable unless you buy Half Life Source.kieranb2000

That is bs. Valve isnt going to have anything to do with this mod besides the hiring of the modders.

Not to be ungrateful, but I think everyone here is familiar with mods. And yeah, it's gonna be great when (if) it releases.

And I can guarantee you lots of people dont know about mods. Unless a mod is put on Steam, only a small number of people will play it from the modding community.

Ive asked many people if they knew about mods, and 8/10 didnt know what I was talking about. Not everyone on this forum has 9k posts and lives revolving around video games.

A lot of you may already know about this but the Black Mesa Dev Team from the modding community is coming out with a complete remake of Half Life 1 using the Source engine. The game is called Black Mesa and will be free. You need to own a Source game to play it. Release date is not confirmed but the devs said it will come out in 2009. A likely release date is November 19th since that was the release date of the original Half Life 1 game.

For those unfamiliar with mods, theyre basically full games made using an existing engine. Counter-strike and Day of Defeat started out as free mods but went retail.

Whats the specific word or phrase when companies release a very general answer or lie to avoid an issue? I hate it when companies do that to save their own asses but I can never find any stories on google because I dont know the keywords. I love hearing their BS answers.

Examples:

Valve just released a statement about no custom mods for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead 2. Their reasoning for that was the Xbox 360 might not be able to handle the mods that PCs can handle. Obviously, they are not allowing mod support because Microsoft wants to control all DLC content and doesnt want FREE user generated content.

Activision just raised the PC version of COD4:MW2 price to $60. Their reasoning for that is it takes more resources and money to develop a game like Modern Warfare 2 than it does for other games. Obviously they know this game will sell and want to milk the customers for more money.

I dont know why everybody is complaining about the disk i mean u only have to put in one disk and u can watch any movie that on the netflix instant play and netflix is gonna give it to u for free

why wouldnt you complain? its not a big deal but its still worth complaining about because its not necessary. the 360 doesnt need a netflix disc. what makes the ps3 incapable of running a netflix program on the hard drive?
