I love Battleborn, which, sadly, means I am going to download this game right now. I don't expect to particularly like the game, but I'm a sucker for unlocking things in the main game.
One weekend and 14+ hours in the game. I played in the Closed Technical Test, did not love it. I learned more about MOBAs since then, saw how Battleborn draws on that genre (though still very much a shooter), and hopped into the Open Beta.
I love it. Not as twitchy as Call of Duty (which I also love, but I'm middle-of-the-road at). The pace gives me time to think, space to run away and regroup, and ways to level up within matches that don't require me to be a wizard at dueling. And the humor and art are spot on.
Don't know how you changed it from the CTT, Gearbox, but the game feels and runs better, and I'm having a blast.
@bbq_R0ADK1LL: Not trying to tell you to like the game, but for me, rushing through the story missions is not the way to enjoy The Division. The world is so much more than the story missions, and I love the tactical experience of those missions on hard. I'm looking forward to running them on 'challenging' difficulty at level 30.
I can completely understand not liking the game, but there's a lot to play here, even without hitting the Dark Zone.
@akassassin11: I was worried about the shooting before the beta. I'd seen all the RPG elements, talents and perks showing up as I'd paused preview videos over and over, and that was exciting, but of course, those videos couldn't tell me if I'd enjoy the moment-to-moment shooting.
I got in the beta, and I was immediately satisfied. I can't say it's as good as Destiny, speaking mechanically, but I think the sound design is excellent, and it feels weighty. I don't like how all guns shoot, but while I generally dislike the assault rifles, my friend uses them very well, so that doesn't strike me as a negative.
I'd say, put on a good pair of headphones, put on a gameplay video, close your eyes and listen. If the sound of gunfire sounds right to you, I bet you'll enjoy the shooting.
