Based on a news article from news.spong.com, (which was linked to N4G.com) there will be exclusive content to the XBOX360 version. This gets me a bit angry but I hope it's false. Can anyone confirm this?

Here's the excerpt of the news article:

"OK, now for some real suspension of disbelief: Both the (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will "likely be identical". However, the Xbox 360 version will have exclusive down-loadable episodic (size-able) content. So, not identical at all then - what with there being exclusive content for the 360.  "

1. Resistance: Fall of Man & Pre-ordered the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 2. None 3. Rented 2 Blu-Ray Movies 4. In the next couple of months I'll probably buy one Blu-Ray movie and a game 5. I play R:FoM online (rarely, because I suck online and I prefer a single player experience)

I have tons of videos and a few demos in my HDD and i still have space in my 60gb Playstation 3. I hope this helps, but I honestly believe you don't need more than 60 gigs.

Alright, that's it. Everyone tuck in your legs and sit down, we're going to have a little chitchat about all this bias bullcrap.

[quote="GameSpot"]

10.0: Perfect This exceedingly rare score refers to a game that is as perfect as a game can ever aspire to be. Such games could not reasonably be improved upon in any meaningful way.

9.0-9.9: SuperbWe absolutely recommend any game in this range, especially to fans of that particular genre. However, games that score in the 9 range are also typically well suited to new players. Games that earn 9s are naturally uncommon, and earn GameSpot's Editors' Choice Award for their outstanding quality.

8.0-8.9: GreatThis range refers to great games that are excellent in almost every way and whose few setbacks probably aren't too important. We highly recommend games in the upper half of this range, since they tend to be good enough to provide an enjoyable experience to fans of the particular genre and to new players alike.

7.0-7.9: Good A game within this range is good overall, and likely worth playing by fans of the particular genre or by those otherwise interested. While its strengths outweigh its weaknesses, a game that falls in this range tends to have noticeable faults.EtherTwilight

First and foremost, carefully read through those snippets that give a brief "explanation" of what the end scores mean. I want you to actually read them. Have you read them yet? Okay, we can move on.

So what does all this mean, in context, when taken into consideration regarding the current lineup on the Playstation 3? Most of the hubbub seems to revolve around Resistance: Fall of Man 8.6, Virtua Fighter 5 8.1, and the recent review for MotorStorm, nabbing a 7.9.

Take note that first and foremost, all your own personal bias goes into account here, as well, as much as you're all knocking the GameSpot website. What do I mean? Well, look at the end score for each game, and read at the above quoted text which "dictates" what the score roughly translates to. The games aren't bad, by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly have things that detract from their overall experiences or quality.

You should also take into consideration the overall reviews based on other websites. Resistance: 8.8, a whopping .2 points over the GameSpot review. For Virtua Fighter 5, it's 8.8, .7 higher, which is kind of a lot, but still doesn't break an entire "point," whatever that's worth. Lastly, we have MotorStorm, has an 8.5, which, still, is only .6 higher than GameSpot's review. You guys can point at specific websites all you want - "b-b-b-but so and so gave it a 9 GameSpot is teh biased!!!" These high, and inflated scores, surely do exist, but it's only when you look at the mean average of scores, and compare those to the GameSpot scores, that you should actually take into complete account.

I'm not going to nitpick any of the individual reviews, but I am going to say that each game arguably has things that prevent them from scoring any higher than did. I personally love Resistance, and personally gave it a 9.2 in my own review, but an 8.6 from a professional website, writing a review for a game that's really well tuned, albeit unoriginal, is certainly a fair, founded, and justifiable score. I'm not much for Virtua Fighter, but the reasons given in the quick Good/Bad, as well as actually reading the entire review outside of just looking at the big yellow number gives us more of a feeling as to why the game scored like it did. In reading the MotorStorm reviews, I personally think that feels about right just from what I've seen showcased in the demo.

Are you guys complaining about bias even looking at anything outside the numbers? I mean honestly? Are you examining the Gamerankings scores? Because if you answered no to either of these questions, fact of the matter is that you're bias, towards the Playstation 3. *Gasp* Unpossible!

This "omg bias" and "omg not AAA that's bs" crap is asenine and tiring. There's more to a game than some score given by an author you will never meet in your entire lifetime. Read the full review. How much do you agree with it? Disagree with it? Here's another tip - Go write a review for a game you like. Maybe even a game you love. Be really specific in picking it apart. Don't just say "holy crap this game is awesome I love it 10." Focus on the gameplay - How does it control? How's the camera? If third person, does the camera get hung up a lot? Do you move fluidly? Do you fumble doing certain actions? How's the music and sound effects? Are they engaging? Do they fit the game? Does the score simply go rather unnoticed? How fun is the game, and why? Does the game offer multiplayer? Online or offline? Both? Neither? How refined is the multiplayer aspect? What does this game bring to the table that's new? What are rehashes of current trend or standard? What does this game take that's not new, but puts a twist on it to make it engaging and fun?

These are the kind of questions you have to ask yourself when actually looking at the full worth and merit of a product, as opposed to your own personal feelings regarding it. Certainly some will be subjective, but certain things, especially in regards to reviewing a finalized product, are not subjective, and this really needs to be remembered.

So the next time you're thinking that GameSpot is bias, stop for a moment, and think. Think really, really hard. Are they truly bias? Or are you, in fact, the one who's bias in one way or another? Because though my "scores" disagree with GameSpot's "scores" in cases, I feel that they present their cases remarkably well, and have been rating and reviewing games based entirely on their own merits and worth - Which you guys aren't doing, because all you're saying is that Playstation 3 games are getting a bad rep because of a slant towards Microsoft. Nevermind the 9.0 for Okami, or the fact that Mario alone destroys your "GameSpot only loves Microsoft!" microcosm that you're trapped in.

Wake up and read the literature, buddy.

EtherTwilight, finally someone intellectual enough to propose a valid point. I highly admire your post, and I firmly believe it should be stickied. I've tried to think of a way to say what you just said, and there is obviously no need for mo to post anything on the subject matter. I highly motivate you to post a thread and repost exactly what you said. EVERYONE READ WHAT ETHERTWILIGHT WROTE!!!!
