[QUOTE="LosDaddie"]Logic is not some of these guys strong points. I love the fact that the only other person on here who remotely agrees with you Snyper also admits that "Technically, the PS3 has a lead of 40,000 at this point"The 1st problem with the "The PS3 is selling faster than the x360 at this point" argument is that the x360 is out-selling the PS3 NOW with no signs of that changing. Any possible ground the PS3 is supposedly gaining on the x360 is being offset by the sales of the x360 NOW.
The other problem with the argument is that Feb07 NPD numbers showed the PS3 being outsold by a whopping 101k units. The x360 sold 160k units in Feb06. Technically, the PS3 still has a "lead" of 40k at this point, but if March07 turns out like Feb07, then the PS3's "lead" will no longer exist.

Well, it's not that difficult to figure out. First of all is the PRICE. Secondly, there are very few good games right now. And even fewer games EXCLUSIVE to the PS3. I have a PS3 and XBOX360 but if a game is on both systems I will be more inclined to purchase the 360 version because I feel like I'm getting more for my money. With the 360 version when you put time into playing the game and do good you are rewarded with achievements....it's a bonus aspect of the 360 experience that really does make a big difference; an important difference. You feel like you've actually accomplished something. Whereas if the same game is on the PS3 and you do good or beat the game you don't see any visual recognition for this.....yet. Hopefully with HOME coming out on the PS3 soon this will change. But for now....those are the reasons it's not selling as good. PRICE and FEW GAMES. Honestly, most of the exclusive launch games were pretty crappy except for RFOM.Â
Good post, Sonofares. I share your sentiments. On multiplatform games, I get the 360 version for superior online experience and achievements. I got the PS3 for exclusives although it's looking like there are fewer of those each month. If you bought a game system for exclusives then you need your head x-ray'd. You're saying that you ASSUMED that Sony had some kind of contract or agreement or something to keep these games exclusive. But if you weren't completely retarded you would know that Sony has never and never will pay for an exclusive. The only garaunteed exclusives are the 1st party games and those aren't going anywhere. Sony only had the exclusives on the PS2 because the Xbox had no install base, came out later, and sold like crap. And don't worry if you did buy the PS3 for exclusives...you haven't lost anything. You make a lot of assumptions which explains your pathetic debating skills and alarming lack of logic. I never stated I got the PS3 for third-party exclusives. I got it for Sony FIRST party exclusives and those are obviously going to remain exclusive unless Sony goes the way of Sega. Gaming has been my primary hobby for over 20 years so I don't mind paying $600 for a few quality games like God of War, etc.
No meathead, you never specified whether you were talking abotu first or third party exclusives. You only said that you bought it for exclusives, though Sony seems to be losing them. So I just assumed you were talking about 3rd party exclusives since only someone with the IQ of toast would think that a company might lose its first party exclusives.[QUOTE="ghaleon0721"][QUOTE="3picuri3"][QUOTE="ghaleon0721"]FACT - PS3 offers free online play FACT - PS3 is capable of WiFi right out of the box FACT - PS3 plays the latest, most popular video format (blu-ray) right out of the box FACT - If you wanted an Xbox 360 to do all those things above, you would spend $750 (25% MORE than the PS3 costs) FACT - There are 3rd party exclusives that will use the power of the PS3 and therefore will NOT appear on other consoles FACT - Sony has the longest, and richest history of 1st party exclusives of anyone except for Nintendo FACT - The PS3 is selling faster than the Xbox 360 FACT - Outside of North America the Xbox 360 is WAY behind FACT - The PS3 offers a motion sensitive controller that is being used in better and better ways all the time. Those are the facts. Those are not my opinions. Those are all backed up by actual events, data from vgcharts.org, and categorical truths that cannot be denied.snyper1982
Maybe you should stop reading Fanboy sites for your news -- 1/3 of those are NOT facts. and they don't make the PS3 any more appealing for me (and I own one, lol).
Exaclty which 1/3 are not facts? The fact that the ps3 is NOT seeling faster seems to contradict at least one of those statements. OH my god....listen... Actually you know what. I'm not going to spend my afternoon teaching you math. Velocity = Distance / Time when something covers more ground in a shorter amount of time than something else, you can say that that something is moving faster.[QUOTE="sonofares"][QUOTE="dustin-diamond"]Anybody else notice this?

Uhhhh, none really. So fine, let's "wait until next month" when we see the effects of Motorstorm, virtua fighter 5, armored core 4 and oblivion. YOu act like its some great feat for the 360 to be outselling the PS3 right now when they have about five times as many games out. The fact is on a LEVEL playing field the PS3 is selling faster. You can't deny it. The charts are right there for you. And enough about the "supply problems" just because Sony learned their lesson from the PS2 launch doesn't mean that Microsoft gets a pass.[QUOTE="ghaleon0721"][QUOTE="Hulabaloza"]Look at the chart......the PS3 sold 127k last month with many units on shelves.....the 360 sold 160k in Feb 06 AND it was sold out everywhere. Right now the PS3 has sold about 40k more overall (out of 1.1 million) than the 360 at the same point......a difference that wouldn't be there if Microsoft didn't have supply problems. Wait till next month. It's clear the PS3 is on a downward trend....127k is pathetic 4 months into a launch. The hype is dying and people just won't pay $600 for a PS3. Sony needs to do something fast, cause the PS3 collapse is happening.3picuri3

we can all deny it -- your using a totally flawed site to prove your point, doesn't matter that the fanbois in SW voted it the official source, it's still bunk.
Â
just you wait until the stories start popping up about how pathetic the launch was -- then you can try to argue for the console.
So if vgcharts is wrong, do you propose a better source? OTherwise, shut up. You can't just point at something and say its wrong when you know NOTHING about it. NOR can you point out WHY its wrong. and on top of that, you can't point to ANYTHING else. So shut upÂ
oooo - told me to shut up twice. big man. might have to pass this one on to the mods seeing you can't articulate your thoughts without lashing out at others.
Â
i'll let you believe what you want to - i'm not going to lead you by the hand through the internets to show you what you should be perfectly capable of finding yourself.
So you're saying that you REFUSE to produce evidence to support your argument? Great debate tactic. lol! ownedÂ
self-owned for not reading the whole thread where i explained the faults of the site and asked him to prove to me how the method was sound == put him in his place and he didn't respond :)
Yes I did. You still gave no argument so there was no way to "prove you wrong" All you said was VGcharts was stupid. YOu didn't explain WHY you thought that, nor did you explain what was wrong with their methodology. Additionally you gave NO other source to support your argument. So if that's how you want to debate.....fine. I can do it too. I had unicorn for dinner last night Prove me wrong[QUOTE="loud_mouth_94"]Fist of all GTA has never been an exclusive it was just released a few months early for PS.

GTA3 was exclusive for over a year before it went to the Xbox. GTA3 was thought to be a PS2-exclusive for a long time.
There's no denying the GTA3 helped PS2 sales.
Thank you! You're right, GTA3 helped the PS2's sales. At the time it was the largest and most innovative game ever created. It was ground breaking. It did things for video games that had never been done before. So where do you think the NEXT groundbreaking game will show up? I'm banking on it showing up on the PS3. It's superior power and capacity make it the logical choice for developers who want to make something GROUNDBREAKING. What can the 360 do that hasn't already been done?PS360 FTW, why are we fighting guys? imo if you have one or the other then you're all set this genSOedipusNo, you're wrong. You're all set with either console for about the next 1.5 to 2 years. After that, more and more games will be coming out that harness the awesome power of the PS3. That means that ALL (as in every single one) of the best games will be PS3 exclusives. That is unless Microsfot makes you fork over more money for another console 3 years after the 360 launch. I can't wait to see how well that goes over.
What PS3 games came out in February? Could that be an indicator of why the system sold so poorly in February? I'm not denying that Sony's software support is coming slowly. But it REALLY picked up in March. Sony is only going to build on their lead in March. The 1st problem with the "The PS3 is selling faster than the x360 at this point" argument is that the x360 is out-selling the PS3 NOW with no signs of that changing. Any possible ground the PS3 is supposedly gaining on the x360 is being offset by the sales of the x360 NOW.
