So in other words, I'll just stick with Ace Combat 6.

Persona 4 not winning RPG of the year makes me die a little bit on the inside. :(

Especially when the winner wasn't even that good of an RPG. Hell, I would've been pleased even if TWEWY had won. At least it was more enjoyable then Fallout 3. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 is fun, but it's not RPG of the year material.

Peresona 3 aka. "RPG of the year 2007" and Persona 4 aka. "future RPG of the year 2008" would like to say hi. But yeah, I have to agree, RPGs in modern settings are seirously lacking. Not that a lot of RPGs should have it, but I think ones like The World Ends With You would bring an interesting mix to the RPG genre. Certainly a degree of fantasy, but still close enough to our times to make it something to identify with.

[QUOTE="darth-pyschosis"][QUOTE="Burning_Sun"]the only thing nintendo gained is money...the real games are on the 360 and ps3. Burning_Sun
i didnt know fatal frame, dragon quest, final fantasy, monster hunter werent games, thanx for the info

all those games a relics of gaming history...only the japanese and people stuck in the past will care for those garbage u call games..those games can't even stand in the shadows of the games on the 360 and ps3.

The irony of this post is hilarious. I seriously hope this troll doesn't consider himself a hardcore gamer.

Mario. Cough *pretty much every nintendo game* coughsmartcriminal

Yes, because a franchise that consistently puts out AA-AAA games should stop making them, because apparently, widely recognized awards, unanimous praise, and wholesome fun are clearly reasons for a franchise to die off. Why instead, let's ignore the franchises that are clearly no longer doing well like Tony Hawk, Spyro, and Dynastry Warriors.

Fanboys.

Whoops, I missed it yesterday, but I played through Kokiri Forest yesterday without realizing what day it was so hopefully that counts. :P

But really, OoT, regardless of where you place it among your Zelda games (WW is the true Zelda game for me), was a true pioneer and deserves every bit of praise it receives, and few of the criticisms.

Based on nostalgia, I'd say Super Mario World. Based on my current impressions and standards, Super Mario Galaxy hands down. I have never played a platoformer before like SMG that made me smile the entire time without a single, "OMFG!!!11! This game sux! This is the worst level design evar!!!!". :P

Mirror's Edge however is beginning to look better and better each time I play it though. If it weren't for all the "Who the f*** designed this level!?" moments, I'd say it'd be equal to SMG in terms of best current-gen platformer.

Well I'm a bit divided here. Tales of Symphonia was definitely the best RPG of last gen no contest, and to see the best Tales game of the entire franchise (Abyss, Legendia, and Vesperia only wish they were as good as Symphonia) fail in its sequel is a bit disheartening. Ah well, it was probably made specifically for the fans who wanted a sequel so I'll probably be at least renting, if just to see what happens to my favorite female ninja. :P

I am seriously disappointed, and not in the game, because I know that the game is undeniably AAA material, but the review itself. Gunplay weak? Yes, it's weak, but there's a reason for that. Faith is not some well-trained military commando, she's a Parkour expert, why would she be good with guns? Have you ever met a Parkour practitioner who was good with guns? I thought the game emphasized NOT shooting guns.

Ah well, I pre-ordered it so there's nothing I can do about that. I just hope the review doesn't subconciously effect my enjoyment of the game. Before I read the review, I saw it as a AAA game, so hopefully that doesn't change when I play it.

Yeah, that's great and all, but even as one who owns a 360 and not a PS3, I ask what's the point of this? When it comes down to it, those differences (especially the last one) will be so miniscule that when the game is actually in movement that I doubt anyone will notice at all. I think some people are just looking too deeply into this thing.
