Quite an old topic, but I could go on about both for ages so I'll try to keep it short.

Killer 7 completely floored me. At the time, I had never run into a game so strange, so gloriously violent, so disturbing, yet so deep at the same time (yes, I played the MGS series before playing Killer 7). The psychological implications of the game kept me thinking for literally months and I have to admit every now and then I think of Killer 7 and think, "what did *insert scene/character* really represent? Why? How did it effect the game?" Gameplay wasn't amazing, but the stories of the Killer 7 (or 8 or 9 or 10 depending on your views) was just so mind boggling that it remained one of my favorite GC games of all time if not the entire gen.

No More Heroes on the other hand, is like Suda 51's way of taking a complete s*** on that mantra and going for a stylistic bloodbath with characters that can never be forgotten. What it lacks in pscyhological discussion, it makes up in sheer awesomeness. Sure, the gameplay was a bit bland, but everything from Travis's quips to the characters' names completely made up for it to make it my favorite Wii game after Super Mario Galaxy.

So in the end, it'll be Killer 7 because I'm in a psychological mood. I'm sure that my opinion will change again though after enough time has passed.

Wii Sports-If we're talking about mature as in age, just about every casual falls for this one.

Civilization 4-If we're talking about mental maturity, this one will definitely impress them. Unless they're the sort of a mature person that doesn't believe in "altering the very fabric of human history for foolish trifles such as gaming." :P

Half-Life 1 or Half-Life 2+episodes-Depends, 1st impressions may not be that great (I know I wasn't that impressed with HL1 when I saw it being played for only 10 minutes, took at least an hour to really get into it) but if they "get" the story and the mechanics, it's definitely going to leave a good impression on "mature" people.

Never happened, but their reviews have subconciously effected how I view a game when I play it. When I played FE:Radiant Dawn, I absolutely loved it since it was exactly like Path of Radiance (with the exception of butchering support scenes), but then I read the review which pointed out all these flaws and when I started playing again, I couldn't help but notice them now that GS pointed them out. I still enjoyed the game, but those little flaws GS talked about kept coming up in my head over and over again.

OoT losing to Grim Fandango. Now don't get me wrong crazy hardcore fans, but OoT was perfect (at the time), even the reviewers thought so, yet it still somehow lost? Only thing to come close to that disappointment would be HL2 losing to WoW. Now that I think about it, other than SMG winning last year's, GS's GOTY choices have pretty much contrasted with my choices for GOTY since Wind Waker.

AA-AAA, I understand that diehard fans aren't pleased, but I personally think it's a promising looking game. I mean, how can you deny Fallout's sense of humor? I'm a little sceptical of the graphics (breaking news! Brown and grey are boring to look at 24/7!), but I think the story and the pure "Fallout-ness" of the game will make up for it.

I live in California and I really don't see what you guys are talking about. Yes, there's one or two really evil Gamestops in the East Bay area but in general, the ones I go to are alright. One of the clerks at one is a fan of Turn Based Strategy games so we talked about Disgaea a bunch when the 3rd one was released. At another, they let me buy M rated games since I was 13 supposedly because I was "an unusually polite 13-year old." :P

If people will elect a man as presedent just because they saw his advertisement in a video game then we deserve a horrible next 4 years.Timstuff

Agreed, but we Americans are naturally shallow and easily impressed by subliminal advertizing. If the candidates attempted to advertize themselves through honesty and good faith in the American people, less than 10% of people would be voting.

As interesting as it is that politicians are finally paying attention to gamers, I find it really funny/ironic. I don't know if anyone remembers, but way back (like, even before he was officially nominated) he pretty much said modern entertainment and video games were the cause of laziness in the younger generation and that kids should, "put the gameboys down and go outside". Ah well, I guess we can't expect politicians to be perfect. :P

Best

Persona 4-but since someone already posted the cover, I'll just post the pic that caught my attention and got me interested in the game. I loved Persona 3 but didn't even know the P4 existed until I saw the artwork. :P

Worst

Left For Dead-I was really disappointed when I saw the cover. It's funny really, Valve makes AMAZING games that can easily trump modern competitors in terms of gameplay, immersiveness, and wit, but recently, they utterly fail when it comes to making interesting boxarts.

Why are we still arguing about this? Aren't there more recent games to be scrutinizing over instead of NMH? Was it really that controversial? But whatever, I say yes. NMH was over the top awesome in just about every way. It was like the kind of game I wish existed when I was a little kid. Over the top satirical violence, insane character designs, and a story that made me go WTF at least 10 times. Yes, the graphics were horrendous, but I think the awesome artstyle and sense of humor more than made up for it.
