Yeah, I can tell everybody is getting sick and tired of reading my awful long blogs, on the count I never get commented anymore. So, I'm going to do something different than my usual quick movie reviews, and see if you guys like this method better. Instead of giving a review, I'm just going to give the score. Sound good? I'll need feedback to see if this is better or not, though.
Young Frankenstein--8.5/10
Apocolypse Now--9/10
Broken Flowers--4.5/10
Reservoir Dogs--8.5/10
I also went to the movies this weekend for a change. Although it has been bashed alot, I thought this movie was hilarious, but not better than its predesessor. This movie was:
Scary Movie 4--8/10
Remember people, I need some FEEDBACK.

An Actual Good School Day!
by gohantech00 on Comments
Yes, I said it folks. I actually had a GOOD school day for once. And it was a perfect day to end a "unique" week for me as well. It all started in English class. Since it was Friday, it was our usual poetry day, and boooy did this one make my day. What made it awesome was the hilarious rap battle that took place between this mixed kid and another boy who was white. And it was actually good too. That mixed kid can rip some rhymes, that's for sure. Hell, he even freestyled too, which I never really experienced in real life, but it was just incredible. Unfortunately, the day just started to drag after that..................until lunch time. That's when I got an item that I had been anticipating for the whole year: YEARBOOK!!!!!! Boy, when I got it, I just had to have as many people I know (or know OF) sign it. It was an incredible feeling to have people that actually care sign a yearbook.
Oh, and me and my mom are planning on canceling our movie rental account at the local Mammouth Video, too. Yep, we decided that their selection is becoming crap, so we are changing over to a source that we should've done from the start: Netflix. Yes, Netflix. Why didn't we think of this before? A better selection, 3 movies at a time instead of 2, and you don't even have to leave the house. How sweet is that?:D

Senior Project Day
by gohantech00 on Comments
It has been awhile, hasn't it? Well, maybe not that long, but yeah, it has been about a week and 2 days since I've written a new blog. Nothing much has happened, though, but I DID go up north to see my grandma, who is having a bit of health problems, trying to recover from kidney failure she had a couple months ago, and she's got a bad cold. Other than that, it was all good. Got some nice driving experience in in the rain which was nice also. And when we got back on Sunday, I managed to rent a couple more movies, one was a horror movie that just came out and one was a unique biopic that has been out for quite some time now. Here are the quick reviews:
Hostel--I've been eagerly anticipating to see this one to tell you the truth. It doesn't disappoint..........well, the gore and killing that is. It was very entertaining, but like any other horror movie nowadays, it was cliched. If you are thirsty for a good horror movie, though, I recommend it. A 7.5/10.
Ed Wood--Let me just begin by saying Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors. And this movie IMO was one of his best. It told of the mostly true story of a director of horrible movies named Edward Wood, and about his directing life. It was in black and white, too, which made it very unique. It had humor, it had drama, hell it even had a little bit of horror ELEMENTS in it. The only problem I had was that I was expecting a LOT more, but oh well. It gets a 9/10.
Now, for today. Today was a different type of day for me at school. First of all, I got to be a witness in front of a fight, and it was pretty damn cool in a sense. Reminded me of a couple of those street fight videos on youtube.com, though. But mostly, today was senior project day, in which in each class period, a senior presents a project of a subject they are very interested in. One did car paint, another did hockey violence, but the one that almost made me sick was............STDs. I can't help it, everytime I hear a discussion of STDs for a long period of time, I start to sweat and my heart starts racing, which was the case today. Besides that, though, it was all good.
Well, you know where I'll be now:wink: . If you still haven't, I recommend you read my Maple Story review and see if you would like to join or not. It would be nice to see some fellow GS members in the game world. Ok, until next time..........lata.

At School..........Once Again
by gohantech00 on Comments
Well, my 4-day weekend ended yesturday, and just like any day after a long weekend/break, it sucked ballzorz. *sigh* Only about 8 more weeks of school. Yippie. Then I have to go out and get a job. Double yippie. Oh well, that's the way life is, no matter who you are, I guess. I barely did anything on Monday but play the most I could out of KH2, and a little bit of Maple Story as well. I DID rent two more movies on Easter, though. And let me tell you, one of them must've been the most violent, most brutal movie I have ever layed eyes on, while the other was just an overated mystery movie that I thought was boring. Here they are:
City of God--I despise foreign films. I really do. The subtitles are a pain in the ass to read, the different language starts getting annoying, and other crap like that. The only exception I ever thought was Passion of the Christ, which did the whole Latin thing really well. Then along comes City of God. At first, when I saw the subtitles, I thought "Oh god, please don't torture me like this." But as soon as I saw the first wave of violence, which was about 2 minutes into the film, I was hooked. And I gotta tell ya, this was one, BRUTAL, movie. Young people, even little kids about the age of 10, doing drugs and using guns, and even getting shot at, along with brutal gang activity, made my jaw drop. And knowing my mom and dad, they hated it because it was just violence and they assumed it sucked just because it was foreign, so I mainly watched it by myself. And I'm glad I did. 9.5/10.
The Usual Suspects--Please don't flame me like when I said I hated Office Space, but I thought this one sucked as well. I thought it was boring, and I felt as if I've seen something like this many times before, so that didn't help, either. Yep, beaten by a foreign film this time. 4.5/10.

The Usual

So, it is day 3 of my 4-day weekend, and so far, it's been very enjoyable. I've been riding in my car a lot in the past couple days, which was a big change to my usual lazy routine. You could probably guess why, too. Well, let's just say I've had my window down at a stop light with the bass up high and the volume pretty loud8) . Other than that, I've been watching many movies. This week, I watched one that was one of the best I've seen in a long time, one crappy ass one, one that was ok, and one that was pretty good, but not in high standards.
The Thing About My Folks--This one my mom picked out. I was definately surprised, too. It was a good-hearted story of a guy and his father travelling together after the father's wife basically wants to be "alone," so the father and the son go traveling together. Bascially, through the whole movie, they are trying to find themselves, and try to heal past wounds. A very underated movie, and is a worthy way to spend about 2 hours. 8/10.
Office Space--I picked this one out, and guess what? I thought it was just not funny. I tried to laugh, I really did, but the movie was incredibly stupid. I'm serious. Don't get me wrong, I like my fair share of comedies such as 40 Year Old Virgin, Napoleon Dynamite, and the recently released job-hating movie Waiting...., but this one fell flat on its back IMO. It was just ok. Go see Waiting... instead if you want a job-related comedy. 6.5/10.
Sling Blade-- I've seen Rain Man and Forrest Gump, and while they were two movies about a disabled person, Sling Blade just blew me away. The acting by not one, but all the stars in it just left me in awe. I'll never look at Billy Bob Thornton the same way again, that's for sure. And Dwight Yoakum? I never thought a country singer like him could be that harsh in a movie. Don't even get me started on John Ritter's role, either. IMO, this movie is miles ahead of Rain Man and Forrest Gump. It get's a nice 10/10. Definately buy this one on DVD.
Wolf Creek--Last, and most certainly least, was Wolf Creek, another mindless horror movie my mom picked out. Let's see, the first hour of it was boring as hell, the middle of the movie was unwatchable because it was too dark to tell wtf was going on, and lastly, it was filled with the usual horror cliches we know of. It gets a very weak 3.5/10.
Yup, Sling Blade ended up being the big one this weekend. And the weekend isn't over yet. Could go to the video store and rent more today, even if it IS Easter. Well, breakfast is calling my name, so have a Happy Easter everyone. Lata.

Maple Story Review

Yay. My 4 day weekend is finally here. I get to have unlimited gameplay now:D ............well, not exactly. But still, I'm outta school, which is good. I missed an NJHS meeting for once because I forgot to tell my mom about it before I left for school. And when I tried to call from my friend's cell phone at school, she wouldn't answer because she was sleeping. Oh well, sucks for me...................yeah right:wink: .
I finally got to level 20 (and even 21, after playing for 5 hours straight) on Maple Story. Man that game is one time killer. Speaking of it, I wrote my first review in a long time, and yes, you guessed it, it is a review of Maple Story. Might want to check it out if you were wondering what my ruckus about it was. Well, it's getting late, and I'm thirsty, so lata!

Easter Is On It's Way

Yep, only 2 more days until I get my 4 day weekend. It's pretty cool how I had a whole week of spring break, and then I come back to school for a week and 4 days, only to have a long weekend. It's incredible. Well, nothing much has been happening except for homework, leveling up on Maple Story, having to deal with my nasty allergies, and..........well, the rapper, known as Proof, a native from Detroit, got shot and killed today I heard. Never really listened to his music, but still, it's sad to hear another rapper is gone. R.I.P. Proof.
Well, I watched 3 other movies this past weekend. One was meh, one was pretty good, and one was a big surprise for me. Here are my quick reviews:
The Chronicles of Narnia--Hate to say this, but this was the "meh" movie I mentioned. It seemed like I seen something like this movie before, on the count of it reminded me of a combination of Harry Potter and Series of Unfortunate Events. Nothing extraordinary about this film, but if you're a fan of movies based on a fantasy book, by all means, see it. But otherwise, I think it is a 6.5/10.
Off the Map--This is the one my mom picked out, and since I have never heard of it, I was very pessimistic about it. But it surprised me. Big time. It was a movie you could not take your eyes off of, because the story was unbelievable. Don't want to spoil anything, but if you see this movie at a rental place, I highly recommend it, if you're looking for a movie about living in the desert on low standards and dealing with a depressed family member. 8.5/10.
One Hour Photo--This one I picked out. I stumbled on this one one day while browsing on imdb.com, so it looked like it would be a great thriller/mystery, especially since it had Robin Williams in it. And it did not disappoint one bit. I know one thing, it made me afraid to ever get photos developed in a one hour photo department at a store ever again. Plus, there was this freaky dream sequence in the movie that gave me the chills, so it has a horror factor deep inside the movie, too. This movie gets a 9.5/10 from me. Highly recommended.
So there you have it. Another weekend's worth of quick movie reviews. I'm going to see if I can get to level 20 on Maple Story now. Lata!

Goodness Redeemed

What a good Saturday I had. It was a perfect followup to a Friday that was utter crap. Well, first of all, I wake up and start playing Kingdom Hearts 2 some more for the first time since last weekend (been too addicted to Maple Story:P ). I think I am almost finished, though, so I am just going back and completing mini games and side quests before the FINAL CONFRONTATION (how dramatic was that?). Oh, yeah, and I ran into Sephiroth, too. Let's just say he's just about as hard as in the last KH........if not harder. So, I just skipped over him for now.
Then my mom and my dad finally got back from this mechanic that my dad knows to get their vehicles worked on, which basically took all morning. Then I got a big surprise in my car. It was a new radio! Its one of those types with the CD player and it can be taken out so you can take it anywhere you want to. Hell, it even has a remote, too. I was so excited. Now I can bump my jams with lots of bass in my car with some commotion:D .
Last, but certainly not least, I watched the most controversial movie of last year finally: Brokeback Mountain. Here's my take on it:
Brokeback Mountain--I was awed by this movie. It was absolutely incredible. And since I know some people that ARE guhay (stupid censoring:evil: ) I wasn't bothered at all by the guhay romance displayed throughout the picture. But it was more than that. It had a good plot, a fantastic cast, and a very emotional ending. This sucker gets another 10/10 from me.
So, basically it was a Saturday filled with Kingdom Hearts 2, Brokeback Mountain, and a new radio. What more could I ask for after a crap day like yesturday? It WOULD be nice to have another long break, but the closest thing to that is my 4 day weekend next weekend. Can't wait for that..............

Worst..............Day...........Eva!

If there is one day of the week I dispise the most, it is Friday. Yes, I said Friday. Everything "bad" always happens to me that day, even if it is the beginning of the weekend. And today was no exception.........and a little more. I've got the whole story right here:
So, it all started with the rain. Usually, I get lucky on rainy days and the rain stops when I walk to the bus stop and vice versa. Not today it didn't. So, not wanting my mom to give me a ride, or too stubborn to take an umbrella, I walk down and soak myself in the rain. Good thing it wasnt thunderstorming, though:P
Next, I get a substitute in Algebra, which was awful. We've been working on having exponents BEFORE the square root, so it turned the regular exponents into fractions, so it's basically really frickin hard. So, not having the regular teacher there, he gave us a friggin worksheet to do for homework. Yippie.
Then the turning point comes where my day went from plah to clarified as "bad." And yes, you guessed it, it happened in art, too. And yes, it DID involve one of those dispicable seniors that I mentioned before that gave me the fake valentine card. So, I'm at my table just drawing optical illusions (our assignment) and I see him over at the sink being a retard and filling either a balloon or a Laytex glove up with water just to entertain himself and his immature friends. Ok, yippie do dah. let em do their thing. But it was when he walked over to this table with girls that is next to ours. All of a sudden, water gets splattered everywhere, all over my jeans, all over our table and drawings, all over the floor, just a big mess. I was PISSED. I mean, x10 kind of pissed. I started shouting out loud in class where everybody heard me, and I told people that were laughing to shut the f*ck up out loud, and even scaring a couple of those girls I'm friends with with my rage. It was awful. I wanted to just beat the living f*ck out of that prick, but I didn't. I just used my anger for verbal and facial anger instead of physical. Heh, and there was a sub in that class, too.
So, yeah, from that point on, my day was ruined. Had to walk all day with wet jeans on, so I didn't care if I got wet on my way home from the bus stop. Plus, I had more homework, so meh. Oh well, maybe some Maple Story will cheer me up......

Addictive Games

Jeeze these few school days I've had were annoying as f*ck. So much homework just for being the first few days back. I've barely had any gametime since Sunday. But what I HAVE been playing when I can is........Maple Story. Yes, I am playing that over Kingdom Hearts 2. Why you ask? Just download it and sign up to find out why. For a free game, this is one superb experience. I just can't stop playing it. Forget Guild Wars and WoW, and definately Runescape. Maple Story is the real deal IMO. Ok, I'm going to get some hours in on it. Lata!
