Man, spring vacation really flies when all you do is play video games all the time. Today is my last day, which sucks. But one good thing is that I only have another week and 4 days until I get a 4 day weekend off for easter. And in between today and that long weekend is more time back at that hellhole and 2, count em, 2, friggin NJHS meetings I have to attend to, which I loathe so much. Yippie.
I've been playing Maple Story and KH2 a lot since I got them. It's really hard to say which game is more addictive, because, for a free game, Maple Story is pretty damn good IMO. It is kinda tough, though, because it's hard to level up quickly when you are past level 10 and your attack power isn't too high. As for Kingdom Hearts 2, I've got a good 30 hours in so far, and it is still fresh. One thing that made my disappointment go away from how linear it was was the fact that you have to visit almost all of the worlds you've been to again, for little bits and pieces of the storyline. I thought that was cool, and it made me realize that the worlds were a bit larger than I thought.
Oh, and movies. Can't forget movies. I rented The Squid and the Whale and my mom rented this stupid movie called Half Light. Here's the reviews:
The Squid and the Whale--This was a damn good movie, showing what an extreme divorice between two parents is like, and seeing how the two sons reacted. But man, did it have one of the most disappointing endings I had ever seen. A lot of things were left unsolved and overall, the movie was just too damn short, being about 78 minutes long. A really good movie, but despite the length, it gets an 8/10.
Half Light--*sigh* I felt guilty just leaving my mom to watch this movie by herself, on the count she likes spending time with me, so I watched it with her. Well, technically, I had a good, long nap, and didn't really watch the movie. So, as you can expect, this movie gets a 2/10.
Ok, well, I'm off to go level up on Maple Story, so lata.

A Kingdom Remains In My Heart

...........ok, so my topic title did sound a little corny. Aw well. Anyways, it's been 1 day since I've had KH2, and ever since I woke up this morning at 9 until 6:30 this evening, I have not put it down. Yes, it is THAT addictive. I'm starting to beat quite a few worlds, though, on the count of I've beaten about 4 worlds since Mulan's world. And after all this playtime, I DID find one problem: the damn worlds are so linear that you'll probably get sick and tired of it. I mean, in the first KH, treasure chests were at least hidden, and some requiring you to do some platforming (which I enjoyed), plus, the worlds were a bit larger. In KH2, all the treasure chests are in plain sight, there is barely any platforming, and the worlds are a bit smaller, but nonetheless, take about 1:30-2 hours to beat each. Yet, I still enjoy the hell out of this game. Why? The cameos I look forward too, the collaborations between Square/Disney characters, and the story. It is one of the best stories ever in a video game IMO. If it weren't for all these factors, this game would be a major flop. Instead, the kingdom just seems to remain in my heart:P
Unexpected Surprise
by gohantech00 on Comments
Man yesturday was incredible. Even though it just consisted of me playing video games like I've been doing, some great things happened. I'll explain:
First of all, my friend got me to try out this MMORPG called Maple Story. So I downloaded it, and after having my confusion on the login screen solved, it was up and running. And I gotta tell ya, I'm not a person that plays very many MMORPGs (only played Runescape), but man, does this one kick ass. The interface is so easy to get into that it's a lot of fun.
Then I get a phone call. It was that game store that I preordered Kingdom Hearts 2 from. It had come in on the regular release date after all. Boy was I excited! I was NOT expecting that, but hey, you have to learn to expect the unexpected, ya know? So then I start playing it. All I gotta say is this: best game I've played since RE4. The countless cameos are some of the best I have ever seen in a form of entertainment. And talk about long, too, which is awesome as well. I mean, I played this sucker for 10 straight hours, and I just beat the Mulan world (which is one of the first two worlds, BTW). So, yeah, I know what I'll be doing all day tomorrow. Anyways, if you are just "considering" buying it, do me a favor and PLEASE BUY IT. You wont regret it.

Coming Up On Tuesday

Life is so good right now. I've still got 6 days of break left, and I'm just sitting back playing Jade Empire. I'm on chapter 3 right now, and according to the game guide on GS, there are 7 chapters. Personally, I don't see how this game is short. I've gotten around 15-20 hours in already, and I'm only on chapter 3. I don't know what people are thinking. Nevertheless, it is very fun, and very similar to KOTOR, which is good.
On the subject of video games, Kingdom Hearts 2 is shipped out tomorrow (DUH!). Unfortunately, I have to wait till Friday like I said in an earlier post. Oh well, I have plent of games that need beaten until then, so I definately won't be bored. Heh, I'm a lazy ass when it comes to spring break, eh?
Oh, and I watched The Fugitive on Sunday as well. Here is my input on it:
The Fugitive--This was a pretty good action movie. I was lost at one part though, but that didnt seem to affect any of the action in it. It gets a solid 8.5/10
Ok, I'm going to continue with my spring break now. Hopefully the Kingdom Hearts 2 review turns out good. Lookin forward to it tomorrow.

Day 1 of Spring Break--Movies, Movies, and More Movies
by gohantech00 on Comments
Ah, nothing like Spring Break. A whole week off, people going on vacation to places such as Florida, California, and Hawaii. As for me, I'm just chillin here at home. And this morning it was...........snowing:? . Typical weather for spring break, eh? .
Well, some interesting things have happened since the start of spring break for me. First of all, I finally preordered Kingdom Hearts 2 at my local game store (Mind Games is what it's called). Unfortunately, they won't be getting it in until the 31st, which is bullsh*t because I have to wait 6 more days now. Oh well, Jade Empire will keep me occupied.
A new Tourette's Guy video also has surfaced. Although this one might prove that this guy is a fake, with the way the Tourette's Guy says certain things at perfect times while Lion King is on, it is still quite hilarious. Hope to see some more real soon.
I tried Guild Wars Factions last night, meaning it was my first time ever playing Guild Wars. It works fine on my computer, but unfortunately, it ran very sluggishly, meaning I have too much crap on my computer. *sigh* Guess I blew my chance of playing THIS MMORPG..........for now.
And also, lots of movies. And since my dad has moved back to his camper because "spring" was here (he stayed with me and my mom because of the cold outside), it was one movie for my mom to pick out and one for me to pick out, since my dad has a separate Mammoth Video membership then me and my mom. Earlier, we picked out Walk the Line (finally, after 3 weeks of waiting for it) and Godfather Pt. 3. But we got done watching those and rented The Fugitive and Sixth Sense (I've seen it before, but my mom has been wanting to see it, so we rented it). Oh, and I finally watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, also. Here are the quick reviews:
Harry Potter and the GoF--This was a breath of fresh air. I remember watching Prisoner of Azkaban and thought it sucked, but with Goblet of Fire, the series has picked up again. Although not the best Harry Potter movie, it was still really good. Lots of action and adventure in this one, although I almost found myself falling asleep at certain parts (I was tired at the time, though). It gets an 8/10.
Walk the Line--Wow. Just wow. This movie amazed me. I'm not usually much for biopics, but damn, this one was like a meteoroid dropping from the sky. And the impersonations really impressed the hell out of me. This one is worth owning, plain and simple, not just renting. Can't believe I'm doing this, but this is my first 10/10 that I'm giving. This has to be one of the best movies of last year next to Crash, Sin City, and 40-Year Old Virgin. Thank god for you Johnny Cash. R.I.P.
Godfather Pt. 3--*whew* Finally done with the series. And this one is basically no different than the others. ANOTHER party at the beginning of the movie, ANOTHER meeting of some sort in the middle of the movie, ANOTHER surprising death at the end of the movie. There were just too many "anothers" in this movie. Sorry, but after seeing this, the Godfather series has not impressed me. 7/10.
The Sixth Sense--"I see dead people" Ahhh, one of the great catch phrases of the 90s. I gotta tell ya, though, this movie still has its kick. One of the best psychological thrillers IMO, with a very emotional ending as well. 9/10.
There you have it folks. 4 big movies that I have watched just today alone. I'll have my verdict on Fugitive later, though, since I haven't watched it yet.
Well, another long blog post done, and I probably made everybody's eyes bleed from all the reading, so I am terribly sorry if that happened. As for me, I am going back to my wonderful spring break................that is, if you can call it "spring.":P

Almost There.....

................and the anticipation is killing me. Only one friggin day left until spring break. Five more days until Kingdom Hearts 2 comes out. And tomorrow should be fine except for one class: English. We are having a big test over The Time Machine by H.G. Wells and about the science fiction genre itself. I am very nervous about it. Plus, my English teacher is a poor test maker anyways. My friend pissed her off the other day for proving a bunch of crap that she wrote on a quiz wrong. It amazes me. This kid is like, very intelligent too. But yeah, hopefully this dumb teacher of mine doesnt make this test TOO illiterate. Other than the English test, and an Algebra 2 test (which doesnt seem too hard), it seems as if it will be a free day tomorrow. I'm just really worried about Kingdom Hearts 2, though. My fear is that it gets sold out throughout town. I'll just have to hit the stores early Tuesday morning I guess.
The Same Usual Movie Reviews
by gohantech00 on Comments
*sigh* Only three days till spring break. Three days till Guild Wars Factions. And 7 days till Kingdom Hearts 2. Yep, I'm keeping track of pretty much everything to do with spring break. And if the week keeps being as boring as it has been, it's going to be a looooooooooooong time. Oh well, time for movie reviews:
Jarhead--Probably the best one I saw this past weekend. It was my first war movie I've basically ever seen, and it was awesome. In fact, it reminded me of Metal Gear Solid, but here's why. There were times where I was laughing my ass off because there was some random humor thrown in here and there, but then again, there was a harsh seriousness in the background. And this is why I enjoyed it. Very entertaining and highly recommended. 9/10.
A History of Violence--This one I was unfortunately disappointed with. First of all, it was too short. Second, I was expecting a more complex story, but to me, it felt just sort of.........bland. It was original, but, bland. Regardless, if you enjoy thrillers, it is worth checking out. 7/10.
Godfather Pt. 2--Ahhh, the second in the infamous trilogy. And to me it was basically the same as part one. Maybe it's because these two movies are from the 1970s, and I just cant get into them that much without realizing it. Oh well, I'll still be looking forward to part 3, though. 7.5/10.
Didn't quite watch Domino yet, and not even Harry Potter yet. But I'll get on it soon enough. Oh, speaking of The Godfather, how about that review? An 8.1! I wasn't expecting the score to be THAT high. I think I'm starting to see something, though. It's basically the older movies translated into games that fare better than games based on newer movies it seems. Who knows, maybe Jaws Unleashed and Scarface will get descent scores like Godfather and The Warriors? Only time will tell......

What a day this has been thus far. Well, first of all, going to Flint (yes we still go there, in the "good" area). My dad had to get some new shoes on sale that he seen in a Sears sales paper, so I said what the hell. I'll go with him. So, I got to drive my car (usually I drive my dad's, still havent gotten used to mine yet) for a moderate distance, and I did pretty good. We went to the mall after my dad got done, and I seen an EB Games, so I went in. I then found Jade Empire for only $15 used, so I went and bought it, along with a new EB discount card.
We then went to this steak sub place, and, being the first time I ever ate there, I thought it was delicious. Some of the best philly cheesesteak subs around IMO. The place was called Big John's Steak and Onion by the way.
While my dad and I were out, my mom and a friend started placing new tile on my bathroom floor, which is sweet, on the count that the last tile was basically weak and came off easily like paper. My mom and my dad are currently working on it right now.
As for movies, all of them seem like good ones, even the ones my dad picked out. He picked out Jarhead and Domino, while I picked out A History of Violence and Godfather Part 2. We are currently watching Jarhead, but since my mom and dad are working on the bathroom right now, it is paused. So far, though, it seems pretty good. I'll have my verdicts later probably.

Another Weekend, Another Haircut
by gohantech00 on Comments
Yay, another weekend is upon us. Only one more week for me until Spring Break. Boy I can't wait. I've already went out and gotten my haircut, which feels a LOT better now. Probably tomorrow I'll finally make my first drive to my friend's house, so that will be sweet. Also, you know there will be movies involved this weekend for me:P . Ok, enough with the hoopla, go enjoy your weekend already!
