@videogameninja: Absolutely right. However, the problem with Quantic Dream games, in my opinion, is not that the subject matter/content topics are off-limits just because it's a game, but because they're not done particularly well. When something's relying so heavily on you becoming emotionally invested, it needs to get all the "non-gamey" stuff nailed down; acting, writing, story beats etc. Unfortunately, it always seems to be sub-par and ultimately cringey af.

Far Cry 2 for me. As annoying, boring and repetitive as it was, I'd still take that over any current Ubisoft game, simply because it didn't constantly make me cringe or give me so many icons & markers that my screen looks like Robocop vision. In fact, it was the last Ubi game I bought, and probably will be for some time.

Some good choices here Gamespot, and I agree about Twin Snakes being all kinds of wrong. My god, what a point-missing joke that was, turning snake into some back-flipping superhero, rather than the out of shape "classic" grizzled veteran in Kojima's original version. How can grown adults think those "additions" were a good idea? It's honestly frightening.

They better not take out David Axelrod. That is GTA 4 to me.

Not perfect, but certainly the right direction to go in, closer to a real Resident Evil game than the awful (imo) action era. Still, 7 feels too much like Resident Evil "Lite" to me. For 8, they need to expand the environments, let us roam more and figure things out, like the legendary first 2 games. It will also need more enemy types, and much, MUCH better bosses than in 7. Honestly, the "chainsaw duel" with Jack is one of the worst bosses of the entire series. Seriously, wtf was that?!

@NonEdibleCheese: ...Whereas before, they didn't need to pay to save time, they could just put in a cheat code. Or maybe the game wasn't designed to be a grind-fest in the first place and they could reach the conclusion of the game in a reasonable time.

I have a disposable income, but it sure as hell ain't going on a game I've already bought.

"Weapons and vehicles that have the capacity to be purchased with real-world money take prominent positions in every shop menu, and their connection to an online storefront also seems to increase the loading time of these menus, which is annoying if all you want to do is swap weapons."

Oh, Ubisoft
