Vista will be great in about 1 year and with the widespread release of dx10 games, i would hesitate because a lot of games are having compatibility issues.  If i could afford it now though, i would probably own it.  im going to try and have my friends brother get it for me cheap through University of Minn.  Until then, in my opinion theres nothing wrong with Vista, just some certain price and compatibility barriers keeping me away from it.

alright, so ive been doing research on the suspected Intel price drops and they're supposedly coming the 22nd of April.  i know theres 50 topics on this but i want advice.  i was planning on ordering parts for my PC this Saturday, but looking that the price drop charts the E6400 (which i want to buy) is supposed to be replaced by the E6420 which is only 183 dollars (compared to the current $220) and has a 4mb cache (with of course the same ghz rating).  Is it worth waiting 1 whole month for this?  i dont want to wait a whole month come to find no price drops come and i could have been playing COH, source games and C&C 3 the whole time.

advise me, thanks in advance.

thanks for the good feedback both of you.  ill wait for a few more suggestions to see if im going to be buying in the next couple weeks.  ill probably swap for that power supply that you suggested therealFrek.  one of my iffys of the buy was the power supply because i know the trend is to buy high watt psu's...like 700 watts even though you dont need that much power and the power supplies are of cheap quality.  also, if i buy now and get a decent DX9 card ill probably drop for a 8800 in the future once they come down in price.  im in college right now so i dont have enough to spend on it at the moment.  more suggestions welcome.

My PC

i believe i just made the list public, if there are any issues with the link above heres the part list :

Case:  NZXT Apollo BLACK NP Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Motherboard:  ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

PSU:  ENERMAX Noisetaker EG701AX-VE SFMA(24P) EPS12V 600W Power Supply - Retail

CPU:  Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe 2.13GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6400

RAM:  OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P800R22GK

Floppy:  MITSUMI Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive

Optical Drive:  PHILIPS 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 5X DVD-RAM Write 2-Tone ATAPI/E-IDE Model SPD2410BD/17 - Retail

Video Card:  Undetermined...looking to spend $190 or less

this is my Intel build (my first intel pc) and its going to be budget system.  i understand that there is no video card on the list.  I might wait for budget dx10 cards to come out, otherwise i might just buy a geforce 7900 or something (about $190).  should i order the parts soon, or should i wait a bit longer?  ive been waiting so longgggg.   also, how does the build look so far, any reccomendations?  remember im on a budget shooting to spend $900 or less.  thanks in advance.

ehhhh i stopped playing my psp for like 2 months when i moved to illinois and socom 2 wasnt realeased. when i bought socom 2 and started playing again my psp was fine. how the hell can leaving your battery and memory card in the psp for extended perriods of time corrupt the data on the memory card? that makes no sense. i mean...what if you leave your memory card in and you play your psp non-stop...will you turn into a goat?
