normally i would say anytimes a good time to buy...but its different this time.  wait until April because 1.) Intel core 2 duo processors are coming down in price and more impotantly 2.) budget dx10 cards are set for realease...save a little cash and have a bomb system.

IMO of course you can.... nvidia would be blowing up rather than shooting their feet if they were to make their new cards non-compatible with DX9 and XP. Especially seeing as though isnt even a DX10 game out, yet alone a DX10 only game

ohhh fo sho. well said.

Well a 750watt CPU would be great if in the future he was planning the SLI the 8800GTX with another card. But your right for now the 600 watt would be fine. I would get the 750 watt one though. Because later down the road when 8800gtx's are dirt cheap you can pick up a second.

good point, i mean...just make sure you invest in a good one if you are going to get a 750 watt. also keep in mind dx10 cards are supposed to become more efficient (with power).

well, if the rumors about killzone eventually including multiplayer are true i reccomend you get killzone because i thought the only thing holding killzone back was like of online play.  burnout just gets repetitive in my opinion, although one of the better racing games out there.  so if killzone will get multiplayer evnetually buy that, but if it doesnt get burnout because the experience will last longer, theres always hundreds of unlocks in burnout.

[QUOTE="blx"]the PSU is overkill. ferret837
you cant have over kill when it comes too psu's.....

uhhhhh, yeah the power supply is overkill...there is such a thing.  spending more for less watts is far more smart and reliable than spending less for more watts...you have to watch what you buy, power supply quality is very important.  save yourself some cash and buy a 600 watt power supply...thats more than enough for the system.  its not a complex system...every pc is composed of similar parts, so once you build your first pc, youll know what you're doing.  it doesnt take an expert to build a pc.  google some building tutorials if you're having trouble, there are plenty of detailed free ones that are very helpful.  the systen will run new games just fine.

save up a bit longer and build the pc yourself.  its a lot easier to build a pc than you think and if you ask for help myself or many others on the forum will help you.  its also a lot more affordable, get 800 bucks together and you can have a decent gaming rig.  if this isnt an option for you, you arent going to have a good gaming pc...unless you want to play older games.
