@Jinzo_111887: You certainly have a bizarre way of seeing things. Ads have been around forever and we're doing fine. I guarantee you've never played a sports game because they're filled with ads, they have been forever, and don't impact the game at all.
There will still be loading times with SSDs. The comparisons are out there. It currently takes minutes to load into a game of 2k21. There will still be a load with an SSD. Having to see an ad for 15 seconds once or twice an hour has zero impact on your enjoyment of the game.
If it actually enrages you that much, you wouldn't be able to function as a human being. You need to grow up and not freak out over the tiniest inconveniences.
5.) Seeing what's going on with these right now, what do you think will be next? Return to the arcade model when you need to give a dollar to boot the game and/or load your file? Maybe crypto miners in games?
LOL. I'm guessing you're a member of QAnon?
Do you go into an outrage every time you see an ad? How do you even leave your house? Have you ever watched sports or do the ads enrage you too much? Have you ever been to a game? How do you avoid the unavoidable ads?
Ads are everywhere. Who cares?
In this particular case, the load times in 2K games are already obnoxiously long. An ad could actually make it better.
@jinn366: Not really. I'm guessing you're not American. The single most important thing in the American legal system is precedent. If they have it in the contract that they can't do cameos, they have to fire her. If they don't, any future firing that's even remotely related means they'll be dealing with a lawsuit.
They have to enforce the contract or it makes all their contracts meaningless.
@Archaicc: You're the kind of person marketing people love since you fall for all of the marketing nonsense.
They've had a month to work on their response to the question of whether games will be releasing on other platforms. And guess what their response wasn't? It wasn't, "No, we will not be releasing Zenimax games on other platforms." It wasn't even, "We have no plans to release their games on other platforms." He said what he said to keep fanboys and shareholders happy without really answering the question.
The article also doesn't include this part
This deal was not done to take games away from another player base like that. Nowhere in the documentation that we put together was: ‘How do we keep other players from playing these games?’ We want more people to be able to play games, not fewer people to be able to go play games.
Microsoft wants money. Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout V will be released everywhere. Starfield probably gets released everywhere, but I could see them keeping it on Xbox depending on who's winning the console sales.
@ilikechicken89: ??? You seem to be a bigger fan of Disney than I am if you think that anything close to 50% of their content is exceptional. I didn't say anything positive about Disney or the service. I was simply pointing out that your complaints were silly, childish, and simply wrong.
@ilikechicken89: Um, what? Nobody thinks 100% of Disney's products are exceptional. You can also buy the good things they make à la carte. You can't watch their original shows without a subscription, but that's not a Disney thing, it's the same with every subscription service. You want to watch Mulan with whatever service you want? You can do that.
@sippio: If Microsoft wants to make money, they continue selling Bethesda games everywhere.
If Microsoft wants to spend billions to try and get rid of Sony, they keep the games to themselves.
If their plan isn't either of those, it was an atrocious business move because they'll never make a profit if Bethesda games are only on Xbox and Game Pass.
