i think we should wait until after the holiday season, everyone thought the ps3 had outsold the 360 last year but in reality the gap actually widened a little bit, the 360 always sells better at christmas, besides, these are estimated numbers, think we should wait for official figures from both companys.delta3074
Nah, man. If you're talking about calendar years, PS3 outsold 360 worldwide by ~2.3 million units in 2010. It sold more in the first, second, and third quarters, and they sold the same in the holiday quarter. The only year 360 sold more than PS3 during a holiday quarter (not counting 2005, obviously, since PS3 wasn't out, or 2006, since PS3 was only out for part of the quarter) was 2008, which incidentally is also the only year that 360 has sold more than PS3 (again, not counting 2005, since PS3 wasn't out, or 2006, since PS3 was out for less than 2 months).

Interesting. Didn't they announce how many PS3's have been sold so far? I wanna know if the gap between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 increased or decreased :PDesmonic
No, Sony's fiscal report for the quarter ending Sep 30 hasn't been published yet. Should be pretty soon though. Seems as if PS3 will indeed shrink the gap by outselling 360 for the year... just like every other year.

As of now, yes. They will most likely announce more games at E3 though.charizard1605
For next year? MS doesn't generally announce unknown games at e3 and release them the same year... At least not any kind of major games. I guess sometimes they get lower budget Kinect stuff out within a few months of announcing it, but that doesn't address the topic of the thread at all.

In what way are those alike? PS3 and 360 are both approaching 60 million. Kinect/move have somewhere in the 8-12 million range. Saying 360 only has 1-2 games this year or next year, because the rest of them REQUIRE kinect makes sense, because for the vast majority (like 80%) of 360 owners, those Kinect games are not playable. On the other hand, games that are playable with Move OR ds3/sixaxis are available to the entire PS3 userbase, not just the 20% that bought move. MS and Sony are both supporting the motion control crowd, but MS's method splits their userbase, and removes suppot from the non-kinect owners, while Sony's support provides ample core exclusives for both Move and non-Move owners.

You sure, bro? Using GS: MGS4 > all 360 exclusives. Using Metacritic: Uncharted 2 (and LBP) > all 360 exclusives. Lems been trying to pull that "quality > quantity" card ever since Gears3 got 9.5, but PS3 has higher quality exclusives using GS, GR, or MC... and higher quantity of "high quality exclusives" using GS, GR, or MC, as well. seriously, why are people still harping on about scores, So It scored lower than gears 3 here, big deal? but UC3 is rated higher at MC, So? Guess what Batman also got a 9 @ GS and is rated higher on MC than UC3 for both consoles (its an awesome game and lived up to my expectations btw).

just please go enjoy the game, if you sit at home with UC3 (which looks awesome btw) and feel bummed that it scored less than gears, then you need to take a good look at yourself and ask yourself is your hobby gaming, or chatting S*** with fanboys.

We're cool, man. It's just crazy... I mean, Lems (not you... like I said, we're cool) keep harping on and on in this thread about Cows crying about the 9.0 score... but the majority of the thread is Lems coming in trolling and baiting with "Ha ha! Gears > Uncharted lol." Sometimes you just gotta play along, ya know?

Although I doubt it came to this, I wouldnt put these tactics past lemmings. They DID after all make a fake website with a FAKE Uncharted 3 review a few weeks ago :lol:

Or maybe it is a combination of people who do not think it is the greatest experience, people who do not own a ps3, people who are not buying the game the first day it comes out, illiterates and the ofcourse fanboys.

Yeah... I love me some Uncharted... but I won't be playing it Nov 1st.

Kinda like this time last year, when people were saying all MS was going to have in 2011 was Gears, Forza, and some Kinect junk, and Lems said they would announce a ton more games as they went through the year... And what did they end up with? Gears, Forza, and kinect games.

perhaps you should remember that according to Metaritic MGS4's 94 is equal to Halo 3's 94....

Yep... according to MC, MGS4 is = the highest rated 360 exclusive. But Uncharted 2 and LBP are both higher. According to GS, on the other hand, Uncharted 2 is = to the 360's highest rated exclusives. And MGS4 is higher. Either way, PS3's got games as highly rated as 360's highest, and games that are highER than 360's highest. So... which scores you prefer, bro?

N64, 1997 and PS3 2007.

Dunno about the 64... But the PS3's first cut was over 6 months, and was less than 30%... The 60gb dropped by $100 (which would be about 16%) after 8 months... but that wasn't actually a price cut, it was a temp reduction to clear out the remaining 60gbs to make room for the new 80gbs, which were the full price. The official price cut to $499 didn't happen till 11 months (and was, again, only 16%). 360's cut was 32% after 5 months.
